But it makes me wonder why they lost during Fall. What happened?

As for the latter, namely there are more Xbox fans are choosing digital distribution over brick and mortar, hence the community seems to lean towards online distribution than buying their stuff on the desk.

It hints my predictions on Xbox One having more digital customers than physical ones compared to the PS4 should stand as something likely...

I really really want to know where this narrative of Xbox fans being more into digital than physical.

Whereis the evidence supporting this notion?

There's 9 in my family.  I'm going to survey them and upload the results.

Awesome. Seems both company did well. Here's to hoping for a strong December from both but man according to this the pro did not sell well..

Edit: i just realized the pro sold better on cybermonday because of the deals.. makes sense now.

What I find jarring was that either a lot of people were holding off to buy the PS4 Slim on BF or Gears really did drive a lot of the initial support for the XBOS...

Either that or people realized the PS4 Pro sucked and their expectations changed drastically, since it seems it might not have been as popular as the Slim... Now I realize these patterns make no sense. I'd expect the Pro the be the main source of sales, rather than the out since Summer Slim...

It does confirm something though... Microsoft fans no longer like stores, so my call was right...

There were not many deals on Pro.  Consequently, on the weekend where everyone is looking for great deals, it did not sell well.  I'm not sure why Sony didn't put together some bundles for the Pro.  A month or so back, I was thinking I may pick one up when I find a good holiday season deal.  But, with no deals, I don't think I'll get one.

maybe because its new hardware? This is like expecting there to be deals back in the PS4s launch month in 2013.

Sony probably intends on selling the pro right now purely on the merits of the hardware. Next year is the time to start having PS4pro deals.

I think people really need to come to terms with the fact that to sony, there is no PS4 and PS4pro. Same with devs. There is only PS4 and as long as Sony sells as many PS4s as possible they don't care which sku people prefer.

On the consumer end, just get the PS4 that makes the most sense to you. If 4k and slightly better versions of existing PS4 games mean something to you, then for a $100 extra a PS4pro would have a lot of value to you. If not, just get a normal PS4.

The thing is, the Pro is not $100 more.  After you consider the value of bundle deals, the Pro comes in about $200 higher.

Anyway, I'm not criticizing Sony's pricing.  I'm simply pointing out something that certainly contributed to the relatively low sales of PS4 Pro.

I'm curious to know as well because I have read that a lot between xbox fans from other site but none of them have provided evidence of that.

I'm beginning to think its just a cheap cop out to excuse how poorly a lot of XB1 game sales has been so far. They know we can't track digital sales, so they just say a lot of sales are digital.

Where as there isn't a single thread of evidence that proves XB1 gamers prefer digital to physical purchases.

And thr only mention of digital sales comparison was made by EA and it had oth the PS4 and XB1 both under 25-30% digital purchases in comparison to the physical purchases. I think it was like 28% to XB1 and 26% to PS4 or something like that. But if you read what a lot of XB gamers say it sounds more like digital sales are even higher than physical sales.

The narrative basically started when a GAF user named 'leeh' made a ridiculous statement that Halo 5's sales were 90% digital/10% physical in response to the game's much lower than expected sales. He based the ratio off of a personal anecdote where out of him and 9 of his friends, only one bought the physical version of Halo 5.

Bingo.  Like Aura said, I think it all started with halo 5 sales being below than expected.
