Forums - Sports Discussion - Anyone watching the chess world championship? CarlsenvsKarjakin

The Norwegian (:P) Magnus Carlsen and the Russian Sergej Karjakin are currently in the final stages of a longfought match. They are in the last match of a 4 game rapid chess tiebreaker (though if it ends in another tie, they'll have 4 matches of blitz), however Magnus Carlsen currently has the lead 2 points to 1.

As much as I love chess, I hate watching chess matches, unless they're taking place in the same tournament I'm participating. Revisiting matches or reading about specific moves is good, but I can't stomach a whole match.

If you have good commentators it can be fun, some of the matches in the championship have been quite exciting. Especially now that it's rapid chess, so you never got those 30 minute thinking breaks that you sometimes get in a classic match.

i am watching it right now, it seems carlsen has this in the bag. But it was a hard fought match.

I heard Magnus Carlsen was so upset he didnt show up to a Press conference. No i didnt watch it but i had a chance to go to one of the games but i was busy so 3 of my other friends went. Ill look over the hames though .
