You sound like the people who say DMC fans hate DmC because of hair.

And you make it sound like that never played a role.

As a DMC fan. It didn't.

I've put about 9 hours in. I don't hate it. I hated FFXIII. I agree with Nem about FFXV being similar to Xenoblade. In fact, FFXV seems be a poor man's Xenoblade. I also agree that the NPCs seem almost completely disconnected from the war. Noctis and crew don't seem heavily affected as well outside of their initial reaction. It's a decent so far. I had no expectations of quality. So I'm not sure if the game is solid or if my view is colored by expecting so little in the first place. The story seems meh but much to my surprise, I enjoy the interactions between Noctis and his friends. It's the games strong suit in my view.

So all the crying that happened and the trolling from Team Ninja, that all just never happened?

Watch me stream games and hunt trophies on my Twitch channel!

The game itself is very good. But for Final Fantasy franchise I wish turn-based combat to return

Team Ninja has nothing to do with DmC. Why would Team Ninja have anything to do with DMC?

That's one one thing that's really bothering me,  aside from being stalked by enemy ships every 200 steps the world lacks the real feeling that a war has even happened.  You have towns with buzzing happy music while apparently this big war just happened.  Even noct and co don't seem to care to much,  being more than happy to help everyone out while his dad only just died 5 minutes earlier.

But isnt that sort of normal for the franchise?

I remember being completely thrown out of FFX's story many times because there was a giant killing god destroying everything around and everyone was like "we need to distract ourselves with Blitzball to not think about that Giant thing killing us all. And then the Al Bhed were kidnapping the only people who could stop him, even for a certain period of time. They really didnt think that one through.

FFX can't be extrapolated to be the whole series. Though even FFX had the world in constant agnst. Most were religious people and pretty brainwashed to think they deserved Sin.

Say in FF6 the whole world changes after a big event. In FF7, 8 and 9 NPC's would react after big events. Places would change even.

It's nice to be able to see some of the complaints and draw the conclusion that they're probably just upset that it isn't menu-based.

It's nice to know that the defense of a mediocre combat system is to bash turn based.

It`s kinda funny that you say that and then talk exclusively about subjective things, even saying stuff such as `I think` and `wish`

But yeah, you can`t really look at games objectively. I suppose you could look at amount of content objectively, since unlike quality the quantity of something isn`t based on opinion. You could also talk about the graphics objectively, although considering art style would still be subjective even that would be debatable.

Theres both objective and subjective quality. Similar to what you said about art style, you may not like a game's gameplay or writing because it doesn't fit your personal taste, that doesn't mean theres isn't quality work put onto it.

Gameplay and writing cannot be gauged in a objective way. You can make vague, objective statements like: "This game features a story" or "You play the game by pressing buttons" (if said game is played by pressing buttons), but you can never, ever, make a valoration of said gameplay and writing in an objective way.

I feel it is.

I also feel that the only people who argue otherwise are the same kind of people who preordered collectors editions of Bravely Default.

Which is a pretty good game :) Its what Final Fantasy used to be basically.

Old School made modern.

It's what Final Fantasy used to be...but not nearly as good. Bravely Default doesn't come anywhere close to games like FF6, 7, 9 or 10 in terms of characters, story, world design, pacing (BD is so shamelessly padded-out) and I'd say even soundtrack. The combat is the only aspect where Bravely Default is better than the games I mentioned before.

For the reasons you listed is why BD is my more regretable 3DS purchase..I even got the CE. ugh...
