duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Huh, interesting. Usually it's 3rd parties usually showing interest and enthusiasm in supporting Nintendo, but not usually Nintendo helping out with 3rd parties. Makes me really curious what sort of support the Switch could be getting. Hopefully some good stuff.

If they're making "great efforts" then we should see "great results", but my guess is this'll be a lot like the Wii U ... some major third party games, but many missing. Like where's GTA Take 2? Why can't that be there on day 1?

come off it, Nintendo is never going to want a  GTA game on their system. Like it or hate it, they have limited regarding adult games. Skyrim is one thing, GTA is another. Too much damage possibly to their family demographic.

certainly there are better signs than the Wii U, you didn't have tons of big publishers specifically saying back then "Nintendo is working hard to make the device EASY for us to bring games to", because the opposite was the case.

It seems to be a gut reaction for a lot of you to say "this will be just like the Wii U with third party developers!" but we specifically are hearing them say things they never have said before in terms of the easy of architecture and hardware for porting games.

This is possibly newfound territory for Nintendo

Looks like he'll now have plenty of free time to make all these LPs that he thinks anyone cares about.

You do know that the DS got a GTA that was exclusive for a time, right?

And just this generation, it published Bayonetta  1, Bayonetta 2 and Devil's Turd. Those aren't family friendly games.

I get the point you're making, but there are plenty of examples to the contrary.

I'd like the switch to be a success, but I think 250 is still a tad expensive.

PSn - greencactaur
Nintendo Switch FC - SW - 5152 - 6393 - 5140 Please feel free to add me :)

Better we have GTAV with pokemon go(a app on the phone from the game, with pokestops spread in los santos and NPCs programed to crowd on a rare pokemon appearence) on launch and bundled.

Chinatown says hello.  Take 2 has no qualms with bringing GTA to a Nintendo system if they think it will succeed.  I think they will be watching quite closley though to see how Nintendo's messaging and targeting with the Switch goes.  Right now it is definitely aimed at adults, your average gamer in their mid 20s to mid 30s, which is bang on the money for 2K and GTA.  But it's the follow through that will matter to them, they will want to see if Nintendo maintains that messaging and also if it is successful.
