So he's not going to everything he says just like almost every other president.

People still expect a president to deliver on their major promises?

Welcome to "President 101". This is the standard MO of most heads of state, not only presidents.

...Or did Obama, Merkel, Tsipras and Hollande ever achieve anything they promised?

So now Hillary supporters are mad that Trump wont put their candidate of choice in jail?

This can only end in two ways: Democrats having a good year in 2018, or vigilantes

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

This, if Trump tries to put Hillary in jail they'll cry foul about power abuse and if he doesn't it's "haha, Trump broke one of his promises" ...

Just pure cognitive dissonance ...

He was never putting her in jail anyway. If someone of her power can go to jail just over emails, likely all politicans over the course of 4-12 years would be able to be locked up for something or other and Trump knows that. He's already raising lots of issues like letting his daughter who's supposed to running his companies in a blind trust sit in on meetings with world leaders.

Besides, he is friends with the Clintons anyway, anyone who thinks he's some "outsider" in the world of ultrarich/influential people is naive. He's part of the same club.

The electorate doesn't seem to share the same view as you do (He's practically Ross Perot reincarnate only this time meaner and younger to shake the Republican Party.) ...

And before his second presidential bid, his donations in politics amounted to less than 2 million ...

Establishing a blind trust with Trump's assets is a dumb idea. He'd have to liquidate his business holdings which provides THOUSANDS OF JOBS. Not only does he have to liquidate his business assets but he'd have to accept massive losses when selling these assets through a buyer's market. It would discourage future entrepreneurs bid for presidency and that's a bad thing when washington has a very low amount of diversity when it comes to new ideas or issues ...

Setting up a blind trust would mean Trump taking on tons of losses and in the end it really doesn't help in reducing potential conflicts of interests when Trump now becomes more beholden to bribes since he has fewer assets than before ...

As counter-intuitive as it may seem, the more wealthy you are the less likely you are to corrupt the system ...

Trump is more likely to bribe than to take bribes (I'd rather it this way than vice versa) ...

Is VGC full of newcomers to politics?

Couldn't give a rats ass whenever a politician doesn't do a promise or two.  Also LMAO CNN.

I should hope not!  If they voted for someone without believing a word they say then I would think that nothing much bothers them!  Blind trust like that should lead to some very peaceful slumber!

It should be noted here that I'm making fun of the guy you quoted, not everyone who voted for Trump, because there is no way what he said is true.  No one is going to vote for someone they know is a liar and be happy about it!  I'm just ... that is simply the funniest thing I've read in awhile.

Well, at least we know that their not the ones starting protests about the election results ...

You may have some irony there but I think I've struck gold with cognitive dissonance at a MASSIVE scale ...

No matter, I await what Trump's extreme detractors will do next. Admit that their wrong about the second coming of Hitler or stay in the Wonderland hallucinating even more ... (It's like the cat said, "We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.")

So, you have me confused here. You are telling people that they were wrong to believe Trump on pretty much anything he said, yet you take people's statements at face value even when they proclaimed Trump as a new Hitler? Like, do you really, truly believe that many people thought Trump was Hitler V2?

It's like Peter Thiel said, "Trump's critics don't take him seriously but they take him literally" ...

So I'm either waiting for them to backtrack or let them wrap themselves in some more delusion LOL ...

I don't care if their right or wrong either way since I'm in it for the laughs but seriously though the comparisons between Trump and Hitler are never ending (I remember the whole KKK and Trump dispute all too well for the comparisons between Trump and Hitler to NOT go away.) ...

Not expecting many of the likes of Michael Moore to eat their own words ...

I am asking if you take Trump critics literally when they say stuff like "Trump is the new Hitler". Like, do you actually believe that they are dead serious about that?

Besides, I don't know of many Trump critics that are surprised about him flip-flopping. Did they use his ridiculous statements in rethoric to try and sway people away from voting for him? Yes. Does that mean they took him literally? I'm sure some of them did, but on the whole, no. Just like Trumps bullshit, that was rethoric. A way of speaking to convince people about something. Of course you are gonna latch on to dumb shit that your opponent says, even though you know he won't actually do it.

You are saying that Trumps critics took Trump literally when he said bullshit to try and succeed with getting elected, yet you are at the same time taking Trump critics literally when they use bullshit rethoric to paint a negative image of him.
