Apparantly 256 CUDA cores at 921 Mhz yields about 471 GFLOPS 32bit FP.

Remember thats the "docked" performance.

When its used as a handheld its probably half the docked rate or so.

The docked and undocked performance theory doesn't make sense.

First, sources have already mentioned that there is nothing special about the dock, mainly just extra ports. At best, one can hope this thing to have some sort of wireless hdmi/streaming.

Second, developers would have to take into consideration the difference in performance between for each mode to take advantage of it. It means more work for them if they do. It adds unneccesarry complexity that goes against Nintendo's goal of easier/simpler software development.

Third, it creates inconsistent user experience, making the product seem lower in quality. Throttling is seen as something negative for mobile/portable devices.

4G LTE

That is all that matters. This thing will do amazingly.

Yup, spot on. This is why I say the switch is inherently a 720p console. But it would be a really good 720p console though. It has just about got too much power for 720p, so if devs keep their games to that target they should get some decent results. it's less then 4GB ofavailabe Mem for devs and shared 50GB/s bandwidth would be more than enough for 720p and toned down versions of PS4/XB1 games.

With this level of power, I hope they primarily target 720p, or 900p at the highest, you'd get a better overall result.

Even Xbox One doesn't get the best results at 1080p.

I exoect them to target 720p internally with all their games and then the Dock will basically have an upscaled built in to upscale the games to 1080p/4k for TVs.

It would be extremely stupid if Nintendo tries to target 900p/1080p games natively. With the power the switch has it would be as u said just better all round to go for 720p. They could hit that rez at some pretty decent framerates and lots of IQ gloss.

Yeah, at native 1080p with specs in this ballpark, you're not going to get much better shaders/effects/etc than Wii U does at 720p.

Forget the specs, give me the games!

5 hours is definitely more than I expected, that's for sure. I'm expecting it to be three, with 5 being if you're using apps and not games.

Wait, what!? 4G LTE??? As in a data plan!? That is a bombshell if true. Switch NEEDS data. Though I will say that restricting it to a more expensive model like with Vita is a bad idea - though it is one that Iwata has mentioned in the past.

I'm also curious to see how much more memory the more expensive model will have. It's only $50 more, so I can't imagine it being that much.

And then, they should also start their own internet plans worldwide for people using online game at home. And then, why not start their own banks so people can borrow money and buy more Nintendo products. And then, they should provide electricity plans worldwide so people playing Nintendo products also use Nintendo electricity..

I'm just saying that if the rumors are true it would be strange for Nintendo to add that feature when they won't be making money from it.

It could allow some retailers to give Switch away free with a £13/month 2yr contract (£8 Switch+£5 data).

On par with Xbox One then?

Not at all. Its got some nice tricks up its sleeve and it comes close in some arbitrary areas and may even be better in others. but over all, it's about 40-50% as powerful as an XB1. That's pretty decent though for a handheld device.

Ya from the sounds of it XBO/PS4 will be about 2-3x more powerful but a good amount of multiplat titles will still be able to run on it.

Probably 32gb base model, 64gb premium model, maybe 128gb if were are really lucky.

A fan-cooled handheld? If its power consumption makes it need a fan for cooling I'm not surprised battery life is on the meh side, although I hope it has a higher power mode when docked and it just needs the fan running in that mode...
