Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Gamestop: Interest in Switch in line with Xbox One

It'll do good at launch, I'm sure nobody doubts that. I'm more interested in sustained sales.

Just move the next Pokemon games on it, and you will have 10 million+ gamers making a "switch".

There`s a very big difference...

You are right, the xbox one was actually my personal least-wanted console in history around the time of its launch and the PS4 had (and still has) the real hype and sales numbers to boot, this might actually not be as-possitive of news as people view it as.

The XBOX really started to sale because of removing the Kinect, backtracking on all their horrible start ideas, Phil Spencer and his team, backwards compatability, exclusives and the recent remodeling of the console. Lets hope the switch doesn't need all that to be successfull lol.

How can so many people be ready to buy the console when we still know so little about it? (I ask, fully intending to buy the console when I know next to nothing about it.)

Given that, at this point before the One's launch, we already had a full unveiling and an E3 presser, this aint bad given Switch has really only had a three minute proof of concept trailer and a bunch of rumors only hardcore fans will really be following.

Of course, it could all come crashing down if the January event disappoints.

I'm a Mattrick hater but that just seems harsh...  lol

Meh, that doesn't really mean too much.

Basically what I was going to say, if this was during when people weren't amused by XBox policies, it wouldn't be very good for Switch.

that's pretty solid considering the Switch has had barely information released yet. Have to imagine that number is going to boost up when there are official game announcements and things. and if the rumor about a 250$ start price is true that probably will help too

And the popularity of the Xbox One right after the famous E3 2013 is a good reference? (similar point in time means July 2013...)
