I am buying it naked. No trailers. Very little info in general. It will be great. Or it won't. But I'm betting I'll love it.

"Oh I am buying it naked! Here's hoping I have superpowers!"

Buying it for 30USD, is what sold me, so similar to you. Honestly that is the only reason i bought it, otherwise I would not care, and would hope the worse for Square Enix, since they have been making horrible decisions for about a decade.

Where did you get it for 30 USD if I may ask?

Amazon during E3 had it for 40CAD, what is strange is if I had the game preordered from previous E3 where 20% off applied, I could have got the game for even less.

I was sold from the start since it was a non-MMO Final Fantasy game. I'm worried it could be a let down but I'll be buying it to make my own opinion.

I can see a pattern here. I think what you meant is "critically acclaimed". I'm not sure this games will have that much apreciation beyond people that like to feel smart. I'm on the camp that think games are about gameplay front and center, and a game with bad gameplay will be a bad game even with a good story (I hink this is what Veknoid meant). That saud I also believe poeple should decide whats "good" for themselves so, ummm... whatever floats your boat?

What other measure is there really when you're trying to make an objective argument. With something like story and writing, I can understand people who don't care for narrative heavy games. Doesn't change the fact that there is a growing group of people who like that type of focus.

I'll be honest, I only got excited for it after it got the name change.

Thats the thing. You can't make an objective argument. Being objective about games is like being objective about food. In other words, nonsense. Unless you have godlike taste like me, then opinion becomes fact.

Yet, in order to be a game you need gameplay. In other words being a game is essential to being a game. Story, is not. Is a complement.

I'm not completely sold, I want to see what the reviews have to say about the game. I remember when FF13 came out and the anticipation was unimaginabilly high. Yet the reviews came out and at best pegged the game at 8/10. That was at best.

... We were all in denial at the time, but eventually when we all actually played and completed the game, we saw the reviews at 7 or higher were very generous.

So at the moment I'm still very sceptical of FF15. Although what has partially sold me was the Kingsglaive movie, which I thought was really good. I didn't know much about the story or the setting, but you can generally peice together with Kingsglaive, I enjoyed it, I thought it set up the game nicely. However I'm not completely sold until next week when we see what the reviews have to say. I hope it will not be a repeat of FF13's launch.

I've tried to ignore most of the coverage as I always do with games, but two things that hooked me were the wildlife trailer and the short trailer that shows them hunting down a Malboro and getting quickly wiped out.

I am not sold at all. I think this game is a shameful display of how much Squaresoft fell into disgrace. It is another terrible style over substance step into decadence from the once mighty Final Fantasy franchise.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

The moment will come for me when I'm able to acquire it on my rig.
