Imagine if Apple decides to release two versions of iPhone. The iPhone, wich would still be assembled in China  and sold for the current price, and the iPhone USA, wich would be assembled in USA and would cost more to pass to consumer the increased productions costs of assembling in USA. And then Apple would let people decide if they are up for paying more so jobs can be brought back to America or if they will prefer to pay a smaller price.

Or, you know... they could always just take less profit on each phone sold. The profit margin on these devices are so high that they could assemble them in the US and still make a killing.

This super protective route can be dangerous you know. In Brazil we are super protective with internal manufacturing and everything is expensive as hell.

From my observation majority of North Americans would rather go for whatever is the cheaper price regardless.

Manufacturing in US now a high end expensive product like the iphone would not effect then so much that they would have to resort to such a ridiculous idea.

They can eat a little cost pass on a little to consumer and service providers.

It getting to a point where ill be just easier to make it in to the US.

Don't worry they will find way to milk every cent. Wyoming lol

It would be more like a protest against Trump by ridiculirzing his idea of bringing manufacturing back to USA than a way to make money actually.

Because if the quality assurance is there, people would pick the cheaper (China) option?

Apple's profit margin is 70%, you happy to pay 100%? It's a gross company, i go against the shepard.
