UK Retailer GAME to Price Nintendo Switch from £199.99

Hey all, it’s time for yet more Nintendo Switch news from places other than official sources.

Today’s report, backed up by one previously used source and one new source who I have vetted thoroughly, is that UK specialist gaming retail chain GAME has been informed of the Nintendo Switch’s wholesale price to retailers, and is planning on selling their basic SKU of the system in stores for £199.99.

It is important to note this is not a Nintendo set RRP, as in the UK manufacturers are not allowed to set RRP prices for consoles. However, it is safe to assume this gives us a solid indication of the price the system will sell at nationwide.

We have also learned that a separate SKU featuring more internal storage and a packed in game is planned to sell at £249.99. We have heard rumours as to what this pack in game is, but we currently have only one source on this information so we are unwilling to talk about that pack in title at this time.

Both our sources have told us that additional Switch Pro Controllers are expected to sell at launch for £39.99 at GAME.

Lastly, we have been told that Nintendo is planning for the Switch to be close to direct conversion price comparable across regions, which we have been told is tied into their push for the system to be region free. This would in theory put the USA price of the system at approximately $249.99 and $299.99 (This is based off conversions, not any insider information).

Have on mind that Laura Dale infos about NX/Switch are great so far, almost anything she said was true. $249 is relly great price.

Assuming this is true, this is excellent news. And this is Nintendo making a profit on each console. If they really wanted it, they could have pushed the price down, which leaves room for manuever in case things go south.Im just a bit worried about power, but if the software is good, Im good.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

That basically means $299.99 is the "real" price.

No one is going to buy the crappy "basic" $249.99 model with less storage and no game, it was the same deal with the Wii U Basic and XBox 360 "tard pack".

With a price that starts from $249 and up is amazing!

If the £250 UK price included a good game, that'd be a nice price.

Well its $50 less than Wii U price, thats offcourse good.

$299.99 is .... ok. I wouldn't say great, but I wouldn't say terrible either.

It's basically the same price as the current Wii U w/game, except you can actually take this version of that idea outside of the house.

So I guess we're getting a Switch Premium with 64GB storage? At least that's a bit of choice.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

That sounds good and realistic :).

Well you can still buy it for $249 if $299 is too much. $249 is definitely great game even it's just a Basic model.

Yes, you can currently buy dead platform without future, or brand new platform that is hybrid that acts like real handheld and real home console, with hole life in front, and that will have stronger hardware than Wii U around 3x. :D
