Well, Sony might be interested in an ultra cheap version of the console if they can push PS+ and their online services with it.

It will certainly hit $199 quicker than PS3 but with inflation I don't think $99 is a realistic price for a console less than 10years old.

I expect we'll see a PS4 Super Slim retailing for $200 around the time the PS5 launches. That could get marked down to $150 on a big sale or eventual price cut or $100 on clearance, but I doubt it would ever retail for lower than $150.
