Just finished trying Driveclub, Until Dawn, and Battlezone in VR. All three games definitly benefit from the extra power. Everything feels a lot more natural, and comfortable in some way. The frame rates feel the same, but they where already solid on the OG PS4 to begin with.

On the downside, swapping HDMI cables every time I want to play VR is just unsellable to anyone but the most core of gamers. Sony really, really dropped the ball not having 4K Full Color HDR pass through on the Reprojection Box. I really hope they have something within a year to solve this. Either a stand alone box for 4K HDR VR owners, or a PS4 Pro with UHD Blu-ray and the Reprojection stuff built in. At the rate I have been playing PSVR, I have a bad feeling I am going to have HDMI issues down the road.

Wrapping up this post, I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET HDR in Tomb Raider, if anyone knows if it's even supported I would love to know. Other than that though, The Last of Us, Infamous SS, and Ratchet and Clank are looking amazing. I am going to back up what I have downlaod so far before I go to bed tonihgt, and swap out HDD to SSD when it shows up tomorrow, then I will start grabbing, and giving impressions on many more games.

I'm still transferring my data. I only have a 1080p TV right now, but will get one either later this year or next spring when there are more "Full" HDR models available. I did buy a 1TB SSD which will be a nice addition to the extra horse power. Load times be damned!

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I'm liking mine so far. Part of me kindof wishes this thing would get it's own software down the road, but I know it won't happen. Uncharted 4 looks pretty phenomenal on Pro, although it already looked beautiful before.

So, was it worth the 400 dollars?

It is now 4 1/2 hours since plugging in and powering on.

First thing was the system software update. After making my primary account, downloaded Minecraft (hair under a gig), Rocket League (about 5 1/2 gig) installed BF1 from disc with (2 1/2 gig patch).....purchased Wild Arms 3, and Rogue Galaxy for about $5 each and downloaded...(kind of large files considering these are PS2's). Played BF1 as I was doing some of this (Rocket League download). Currently downloading ESO (which is my largest app at 62.964) with 4 hours still to go (24.181 done...4 Hours Left).

So far the download speed and times have been more consistent than the previous; fast, then slow, then pause, then restart, then fast again, and then slow, then who the heck knows.

I have some old Minecraft worlds I can probably transfer over (...will miss), but I won't. Gives me the excuse to get addicted to that game again and create something new.

Looking forward to some more BF1, Elder Scrolls Online, and Skyrim (once attained).

Overall opinion so far...(basically the setup process with minor sampling and tasting)...more snappy.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

It's a big difference for psvr.

DriveClub VR: looks solid now, seems double the resolution it was before in the distance. Also some extra reflection effects (or maybe simply not visible before, light glinting of the steering wheel for example)

Bound: Already looked great, made my jaw drop again during one of the scenes that reconstruct themselves.

Trackmania Turbo: Native 120fps looks really good, picture is always solid no matter where you look. Spinning helicopter blades get natural motion blur, and you can also see them sharp if you follow them with your eyes. 1080p mode definitely looks enhanced too, however 60fps feels slow after psvr.

Rez Infinite Area X: So beautiful. I tried to video capture it, nvm, it doesn't translate to 2D.

The extra usb port at the back is very welcome too, plus it all feels a bit faster.

That is interesting because DriveClub VR + Until Dawn: Rush of Blood haven't got Pro patches yet. Was the Pro mode already in the first version? I'll have to check them out, didn't bother because of the lack of patches.

Yeah, it's very annoying that the quality difference in a 2d video capture is much smaller than seen in the headset.

I also like the additinal USB port, but the should have added even one or two more on the backside.

Driveclub is a lot more comfortable to play now. The materials look a lot more natural now, and the overall image is much cleaner. The draw distance is much better, and the since of scale is even better. There is absolutly no going back to TV for sim/simcade racers for me. I really can't wait to see what Polyphony does now, with more time.

Until Dawn and Battlezone where both much nicer now as well. Pro has done an amazing job raising the resolution which has cleaned up the jaggies in both titles a lot. I feel like Pro skips the PS1 gen as far as visuals go, but I would still like more reliable tracking. Pro 2 and PSVR Pro, definitly need to make tracking the number one concer.

I waited a while for the same reason, started getting really mad that Sony had seemingly dropped the ball, but since I had the VR on and tried Battlezone, I jumped in the other two and was pleasently surprised. Would love to hear what you think about them.
