How difficult is it to get a tough looking, hot asian woman...?

Japan doesn't care about whitewashing.. why do you?

All in all they need also a selling point and that is Scarlett Johannson. Would the main character be a unknown one, then they would have a risk to get people to watch a strange looking movie like this. People need to have some kind of connection or a feel of security that could work in this film.

It is the "What the hell is this movie? Oh well, it has that Actor in it, maybe I'm gonna check this out" approach.

I completely agree with this post. And I also look at live action adaptations like the Attack on Titan movie and feel like maybe whitewashing manga adaptations aren't necessarily the worst thing in the world.

I'd be ok with it if Johanssen's lips weren't so large. It bothered me for some reason XD

For me, it's her body. She's got big boobz, but she lacks the proper curves. Her big head throws it off even more.

The trailer was hot garbage, but from a visual standpoint the film looks absolutely stunning. I'm torn.

I love the visuals and I'm willing to give Scarlet a chance even if people have an issue with a Dane in a Japanese role. Want more sci fi like this on the big screen.
