Color Splash would've flopped even if it was the best Paper Mario game ever.

But if it was like TTYD, I would have bought a copy.

I said long ago I refuse to buy a sticker star clone paper mario game, or another platform one.

Ive heard decent things about it, but its just not the game I want from the series, so I dont want to support nintendo in the way they go about things like this.

Metroid Prime Federation force (shouldnt be called Metroid Prime)

Starfox Zero (when bad design choices are forced onto you, to make a gimmick controll work, that sacrifices way to much)

Paper Mario Colour Splash (sticker star clone, when its supposed to be a decent turn based rpg)

Chibi Robot (3ds) (2d platformer game, when its supposed to be a 3D exploration game)

Pikmen (3ds) (2d platformer game, when its supposed to be a 3D exploration game)

Animal Crossing Amiibo festival (a board game? no nintendo, staaaaph!)

ect ect

@Metroid. What would you have called it? Federation Force? That's just a generic sounding name.

@Star Fox. What, you wanted to have regular controls I guess? Even though that would make the game impossible? Lots of people would disagree with your opinion, and I'm one of them.

@Color Splash. If you knew how it actually was, then you'd know it isn't a Sticker Star Clone.

@ Chibi Robo. Chibi Robo does not sell well, and that was a last ditch effort to make the series sell. Plus, did you really expect a 3D exploration game on a handheld? I can't think of any that did well.

@Pikmin. It's a spin-off, why would you worry about it?

@Animal Crossing. Again, another spin-off. Plus, what's wrong with a board game? You think that they're bad?

Funny thing is, more than half of those are spin-offs, not main series in the games, animal crossing has only had one spin off, metroid had only one spin off, pikmin has had no spin offs, etc.

Mate don't ever mention Prime at all in your argument because that game was hammered before release by fans, funny how their tune has changed now. The original Prime is an example of them doing what you're complaining about now.

the man is talking about 3 games, you're talking about one that came out more than a decade ago?

What are you on about? He mentions Prime in the very post I quoted.

Can't be bothered to watch the whole thing but he's not wrong about the communication thing. Nintendo talks "directly to you" but it's a one way street.

Sure but I don't think being a spin-off excuses the game being bad, that's my bottomline issue.

But aside from Amiibo Festival, none of those games were bad. They were at least average.

Would be nice if there was a summary of the bullet points in the original post, because anytime I see alternine post a Youtube video about Nintendo, I have to assume it's the opinion of a guy who isn't worth watching at all.

What I gather from the responses in this thread, the video is about congratulating Nintendo fans for letting bad Nintendo ideas flop. Is this really anything new though? That's quite consistent throughout video game history, hence why Nintendo goes through extreme highs and lows, be it consoles or games (series).

I'd say the best thing someone can get out of this realisation (for the people this is news for) is that it adds another layer to the neverending question of why many third parties have such a hard time on Nintendo systems. Well, if Nintendo themselves can't sell everything they'd like to sell, then it stands to reason that products which are generally inferior to Nintendo's will have problems too.

Many people would disagree with you on your first sentence. He's one of the few people on here that can get cool level headed discussions.

one game turning out good 14 years ago has little bearing on what has been going on the the recent months. But i guess you can cling to that if you want.

Except it's not the only game that has turned out good, he brought up Metroid Prime in the post saying it's different when in fact it's an example of what he's complaining about. Fire Emblem is also another example of a franchise being changed up and that's recent, Zelda also does it every installment, this is a case of you being desperate to try and gain ground in something you have no standing in because my point is not even challenged at all by anything you've posted in fact you've practically added nothing at all.

It's a decent opinion piece. It has passion at least. The way he talks, his vocal inflections ,remind me of Blackbustercritic. But without the mean. :) Also, thread title sounds like a late 90's, early oughts Fox show. Airing right after "Stars Without Makeup".
