What if Sony released a Vita bundle with a TV dock acessory and a PS3/4 controler?

Obviously I am thinking about the Nintendo Switch.

What if Sony made a acessory that docks your already own Vita into TV like the Switch, and started selling bundles witht the dock acessory?

Could that give the handheld some extra mileage or is it already too late?

Would that be a Nintendo Switch like solution?

The issue with the Vita apart from its lulz worthy memory cards is its games... It has hardly any system sellers. Its entire audience is niche hence why hasn't taken off. Sony needs to support it with software, not another revision/accessory.

The 3ds not only has Nintendo's first party system sellers but it also has the big Japanese ones like MH and YW exclusive to it.

Vita is to underpowered now. Sony would have to have to make a cut down PS4 with 8 core CPU/12 Core GPU/8GB RAM, and lower clock speeds. Doing that and requiring devs to make a version for the above+PS4+Pro is the only viable option Sony has for something similar to Switch.

Make the memory cards cheap. I don't care about anything else at this point hardware wise with my Vita. Just make them cheap. I only have a 8GB card because in 2012 I thought hey 8 was more than enough for my PSP or 3DS so why not? Now they are so pricey I just can't get one. Add all the docks you want but I no longer care. I keep having to delete games. I love the Vita but that is the thing that they never addressed and with it on the way out why not lower the prices?

As nice as the Vita really is, it's past its point of mass penetration given the rest of the competition in this market. Yes it has its core audience but it's not enough to compete with the hype of new technology and mainstream type titles.

I love the Vita(I have 3 of them) but it is past the point of a comeback sadly. Sony did alot right within the first 2 years of its life with great ports/versions of their popular franchises and even Vita exclusive IPs like Gravity Rush but it wasn't enough to gain traction. Some blame the over priced memory cards but I don't think the general public even noticed. It wasn't like millions of people were like "Oh I'm going to buy a Vita today... Oh damn those memory cards are too expensive, I'm not buying one".

i'm always enjoy playing Vita games on the go, enjoying World of Final Fantasy recently and never wish about connecting it to TV, which is why i didn't buy the PS4 version

Unfortunately, I think it'd do nothing. The point of saving the Vita has long passed, so it's better to just retire it and perhaps try again, if they're interested in continuing the pursuit in portable gaming.

Literally would do nothing. The Vita is unwanted and unsupported. It's dead.

Stop with the Switch and Vita things. Its dead just like the Wii U. Only Japan left.
