Lots and lots of (j)rpgs :p

But yeah Switch is gonna outsell the Vita my millions and millions.

the vita has awesome games, but not famous franchises, that's the thing.

That's where the PS4 comes in because games for the VITA has also been released for the PS4.  So unless Sony makes a VERY affordable handheld that will appeal because of price, I don't see a new VITA very probable.

You know that PS Vita is not Nintendo Switch's competition?
You know that the real competition for Nintendo Switch are PS4 Pro and Xbox Scorpio who are superior in any way to the Nintendo Switch?

More like Scorpio is better than PS4Pro in any way. Switch on the other hand has the appeal of also beeing portable which neither of those two are able to deliver.

The Switch is basically the vita successor. Sony are done with that market and I can't see them offering up any competion.

I think it's quite clear to you and everyone else that the Switch main competitors are thet Vita and 3DS. I mean cmon you don't think portability is the main selling point of switch?

PSV performed quite badly in Japan in the past few weeks, like only under 9k units per week. Software sales are also not at a sustainable level anymore. It´s already in its last legs. It´s already losing ground within the PS ecosystem against PS4, against a console in Japan. It won´t get any better with the launch of the Nintendo Switch, that will beat the advantage of having the best handheld console graphics from the get go.

Hardware sales are worrying, but your point about software sales is exaggerated.

Vita games which have outsold their PS4 counterparts this year:

- Dragon Quest Builders (300k)
- Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball (170k)
- Attack on Titan (110k)
- Gundam Breaker 3 (105k)
- Hatsune Miku Project Diva X (90k)
- Toukiden 2 (90k)
- Utawarerumono 3 (55k)
- Summon Night 6 (50k)

Hardware sales may be falling, but software sales are a long way from being "not at a sustainable level anymore".  All of these games are relying on the Vita SKU to pull up the total sales of the title - in most cases Vita version is vastly outselling the others.

It's going to be at least a couple of years until software sales are at a level where it's no longer worth the investment; it's certainly not the case when the Vita version is the best selling version.

Next up - World of Final Fantasy & Sword Art Online.

I´m talking about the evident sales trends that show steep decline. Your list is actually a confirmation since DQBuilders is almost a year old and most of the list that are from your point of view supposed to be good, actually show clearly declining software sales compared to previous entries. PS4 software sales in Japan surely aren´t a barometer of success, my point is, that the gap between those two is closing, one shows a mildly positive trend, while the other is in the negative (PSV), starting from an already at best ok level. A comparison of the Top 10 selling games this year on PSV and PS4 is also very telling, with PS4 ending the year on top of PSV. But more importantly, just take a look at the actual software sales performance in the past months. It also doesn´t help that World of Final Fantasy looks like to be a flop in Japan (WoFF PSV: ~50k first week), that the PS4 version performs even worse isn´t exactly encouraging either, the same story with the new Sword Art Online, another game with a notable decline compared to past entries.

They need to give PS Vita Android OS, so it'll have the Google Play Store.

They haven't figured out how to sell their handhelds, or phones.

A PSPhone would just mean Sony hate having money.

There are more Xperia phones sold than Vitas but unlike the Vita Sony isnt getting any money if people buy things from Google Play store

Everything is relative, Vita technically does better than Sony phones in terms of marketshare.
