how is the performance

I don't think performance has been an issue at all for any psvr games. They all run at a locked 90-120fps.

Well we have to remember that Sony mandates solid frame rates.  probably the single greatest  decision they made.

awesome

It's sounding more and more that the PSVR is a way too go. This means the price isn't going down anytime soon.

Performance during games is solid, only when you go back to ps menu with the game still running you'll get the occasional stutter. No problem with the quick menu, yet looking something up in the browser with the game still on in the background can cause the occasional hiccup.

One time during a long load in DC VR it got really slow, showing all kinds of weird warped tunnel effects when rotating my head. I thought the game had crashed, then it came back after 20 seconds.

During gameplay it's always solid, although since launch I've had a few times when the headset simply blacked out for a second while playing. Maybe a fail safe when the frame rate drops yet I've had actual frame rate drops in Rez Infinite where the game slowed down (only happened twice in getting the plat for the whole game). When that happened head tracking was still smooth, just the animations in game were running below 60fps.

Anyway with as much as I've been playing it, it has been the smoothest launch ever. Nothing has actually crashed and the 2 occasions of slowdown over 15 hours of playing Rez is not an issue.

Tip: If rotational tracking ever drifts (does sometimes in cockpit games where the 'straight' view no longer corresponds with sitting straight on your couch) simply turn the headset off and on to reset. Holding down the options button only resets your 3D position.

You can use reset view to lean out further than intended, lean all the way left in the play area, reset view, now you can reach further right. Or get a higher viewpoint by resetting while crouching. Useful with Allumette for example, download now (free) and prepare to be amazed :)

You will find it in the PSVR Demo application. Whether the disk that came with the VR set or the digital version that is free from the PS store.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Jelly, is what I am of people who have a gameshop (even within 60 miles of them) which isn't completely useless.

Honestly if it wasn't for console and accessories launches I would personally go and burn down my local gamestop. (along with its staff inside it)

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Hearing how well the psvr runs on the ps4 makes me hyped for how well it will run on the ps4 pro.

Getting a Pro this year. Likely to get a 4k TV and psvr in 2017. Exciting times ahead

You know what the worst thing about psvr is?

Returning to reality after playing for several hours. You get so absorbed in the headset it can be a bit of a strange experience to come back to a boring dimly lit room after taking it off.  Btw I find it just as immersive without headphones, maybe more so as a dedicated surround system gives a larger soundscape. Plus it allows me to still hear other sounds.

VR is definitely the future of entertainment, at least when it comes to games that take your full attention. (It won't replace watching tv while playing candy crush / texting on your phone) Headsets need to get lighter and hopefully wireless one day, or fully self contained. But for now it's very exciting to see it evolve with every game trying out different control and presentation methods.

12 days until the pro. I wonder when and which psvr games will get pro enhancements. Not that the current crop really needs it, except DriveClub. It feels rather pointless to do any endurance races with fixed time and no dynamic weather, every lap is the same. I played some multiplayer races tonight, works well, but there was some lag in an 8 player team race in a corner pile up.

I havery only one game and played some demos but yeah it all runs really smooth. Graphics are a bit jagged edges on inaminate objects like tables etc. Humans look scarily lifelike though on what I've played so far
