Forums - Sales Discussion - Nintendo: YW sells 400k in Europe! Huge success for toys in Spain and France, Europe its best selling western market, while spain, its best selling European market!

In Europe, the first title in this series, Yo-Kai Watch, was released this year on April 29, with Nintendo of Europe managing distribution. This graph compares the sell-through in the European market with the earlier release in the Japanese market. It is easy to see that Europe is off to a strong start, outpacing the sales figures of the Japanese release. I am told that the YoKai Watch toys are selling well in Spain and France as well, so we anticipate further demand as we head into the holiday season.

Remember, that number has been achieved between May-October! it's the same with sales on NA  as of may 2016, where the game had been released on  holidays! http://nintendoeverything.com/level-5-on-yo-kai-watchs-na-sales-snack-world-update-future-plans-and-more/

400k+ 450K (  assumIng  that YW has sold another 50k from May to october In NA ) equals to 850k, it should be at 900k including rest of the world, a relative success for that kind of game outside Japan!

It worths to note  that from the 400k sales figure in Europe, thE 200k + coming from Spain/France alone ( 100k+ in Spain  and 100k+ in France )!  By Ryng tolu.

Compare the size of spanish and french market and you will fathom how huge are the numbers of YW for Spain.

YW has sold 2.33m globally, when adding Japan numbers!

As for vgc tracking, it has undertracked it by only 100k in Europe! Pretty good tracking, especially  for a new franchise in the west!

However, tracking in NA isn't so  good...

I'm not surprised, YW got a massive push, merchandise is widely spread and it's paying off. Good for Nintendo and Level-5.

I cannot imagine toilet-free life.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

I may not care for the series at all, but I can say it's very popular with kids with 3DS. I suppose it's way more succesful that I gave it credit for.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Of those 400k, more than half is from Spain and France (both over 100k at retail alone).

Game is doing very good in Italy too in term of share.

I said it :p, over 100k by end of September.

Btw over 100k doesn't mean "can be anythink over 100k", is just barely over that, so something 100-105k. (remember, this is only retail)

Oh wow! It wasn't a bad idea for them to release it WW! I thought it was a flop!

lol I'm droswy, didn't notice it!

Amazing for Spain and France...

Southern Europe embraced YW more than Northern Europe! :) Although, I think that it must have done  very well in Germany too, while not so well in the UK.

I guess that numbers in Italy for the size of that market, must be big!

Surprising how well everything Yokai related is working on Spain
