*shrug* The game isnt even announced for NS.

If it's coming to NS, they wouldv announced it like what squenix did to DQ11

Probably being kept quiet for now because Nintendo wants it at the Jan. 12 Nintendo event. They will show it there.

Now that Nintendo has a set date for their full unveil, likely Nintendo is putting a gag order on any further showings/large scale mentions of NS software until then.

Remember again, this launched with the Wii U in Japan on day 1:

It's basically just a 3DS game running in HD.

Bet on the same for Switch with this Monster Hunter game, in fact I would say a similar bundle type is likely to happen also.

Capcom will score an easy extra 300-400k at least in sales by offering the game to Switch early adopters, no reason not to.

I thought it was an upgraded version of MH3 for the Wii.  MH3U on 3DS were ports of the Wii version.  The base game (Monster Hunter Tri) was a Wii game first.  Did they port it from 3DS or the Wii?  No clue but I'm guessing Wii considering Wii is more powerful than the 3DS.  I'm sure your probably right since the Wii never got MH3U.  I was just thinking it would be easier to upgrade the assests of Wii than 3DS but considering Wii only had base game then you are more likely right.

But they haven't, because a new Nobunaga's Ambition was just announced for it today.

The series was announced, but no specific game itself was announced.

I think you will see Monster Hunter XX AND Monster Hunter 5 (Switch only) announced together for NS on Jan. 12. Just a hunch.

It's Monster Hunter, Nintendo is going to want to have it be a key part of that event IMO.

If Nintendo wanted things to be kept quiet that much and this was actually planned as a NS game as well, then surely they would have wanted Capcom to not announce this either yet, no?

Capcom may have wanted to announce something now because of pressure from shareholders since it appears they are having some financial problems. So if they have an earnings report coming up, being able to say "hey we got another Monster Hunter game that's probably good for 1-3 million in sales coming this fiscal year" helps settle some nerves. They can keep the NS version under wraps until Jan.12, no big deal.

It's the same difference. I just think you're reading too far into this, even if it does happen.

I was gonna say that.

Also would make sense for Nintendo to show MH XX Switch gameplay on their conference, so they can save it for that. Did Capcom even show gameplay today?

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

We'll see I guess but yeah I think basically

Switch launches in Japan March 18th alongside Monster Hunter XX and there will be a Monster Hunter XX Switch hardware bundle (limited quantities) available. Basically the same thing as the Wii U launch.

Also maybe Capcom will announce or tease Monster Hunter V for Switch at that event.

I asked him in another thread if he had ever played Monster Hunter and with that post it seems increasingly so that he has not.

There is a small chance of this happening but I do not think Switch will be released mid month. I think the 3DS game, if it is coming to Switch, will come out a week or two before Switch is released but there is a good chance Switch sees a version upon its launch.
