Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Uh I think Capcom Kinda Just Leaked The Japanese Switch Launch Date

Monster Hunter XX launches in Japan on March 18th, 2017 for 3DS but I'm calling it right now, this game is going to be on Switch and released the same day. It would be stupid to launch such a big 3DS game like 1 week before the Switch because your sales would be cut off potentially in week 2.

I think it's more likely Monster Hunter XX Switch is going to happen. Switch version will have HD graphics and 60 frames per second, which will launch on March 18th in Japan (day and date with the 3DS version). Just like the Wii U launched with that HD Monster Hunter port (HD graphics, 60 fps).

Capcom can't say that now because they are waiting for the Jan. 12th event at Nintendo's request. Having one for the Switch launch is kind of a no-brainer, plus is starts building that Monster Hunter audience on the system right at day 1.

I think there will be a few 3DS/Switch dual releases for a little while until Switch builds up its userbase and takes over.

Its in Japan. You could release it during and earthquake and it would sell millions...

I hate how its near the end of the month. Like come on, y not the beginning T_T

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I dunno... I don't expect many games to be released on both 3ds and Switch.

I was thinking this myself when I ready the Monster Hunter XX article, Hopefully it will be :)

This one is likely though.

Well if you were Capcom, what would you do? Release your 3DS game a couple of weeks before the Switch or after it?

Remember again, this launched with the Wii U in Japan on day 1:

It's basically just a 3DS game running in HD.

Bet on the same for Switch with this Monster Hunter game, in fact I would say a similar bundle type is likely to happen also.

Capcom will score an easy extra 300-400k at least in sales by offering the game to Switch early adopters, no reason not to.

*shrug* The game isnt even announced for NS.

If it's coming to NS, they wouldv announced it like what squenix did to DQ11

Soundwave may be onto something here.
That kinda makes sense to me.
