Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Eurogamer: Nintendo Switch has a 6.2" 720p multi-touch screen

"Let's start with the Nintendo Switch's screen. It is 6.2" in size, 720p and - for the first time in any Nintendo device - boasts a capacitive multi-touch screen."(Both 3DS and Wii U featured resistive touchscreens, reliant on pressure and less precise. They were also single-touch only.)

"As is standard for capacitive devices such as most modern smartphones, Switch's screen is a 10-point multitouch display, meaning multi-finger gestures are supported."

In my honest opinion, good for gaming, price and battery. And way better than the wii u gamepad.

Knew it! A tablet not having a touch screen in 2017 would be stupid

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

That's great news!

Hope so. I was rooting for a 720p screen. It's a good balance between battery life and good resolution IMO. Now let's hope for a tegra x2 :P

How else would Super Mario Maker work on the Switch? I think a multi-touch display is a guarantee at this point. But how would you play SMM when docked? It may only work in portable mode.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

Well, extra features are always great.

And say what you will, but 720 p for the portable mode is great. And when in home console mode it will be in 1080 or 900p, so Im good.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Also as far as ppi's go

WiiU - 854x480 @ 6.2 inch = 158 ppi
Vita - 960x544 @ 5 inch = 220 ppi
Switch - 1280x720 @ 6.2 inch = 236 ppi

Touch screen confirmed!

This is more like it.

A horrible video but it's the only smartphone with a 6.2 inch display I could find.

Really dont like the idea of some games only working in handheld mode.
