Forums - Sony Discussion - Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5 HD Remix announced for PS4 (Supports 60 FPS)

Now, There is one dumb thing SE did. If they are certain about releasing KH3 on Xbox One, why not include this package for Xbox One as well?

I would appreciate it if this came out on Switch. I've never really played KH before but it seems more like a NIntendo game than anything else.

That sucks. I guess I get into this franchise I'll have to find copies of those games.

It's been theorized that they can't put the full versions of Re:Coded and 358/2 Days into the collection because they were Nintendo DS exclusives. Sounds plausible to me, they're the only 2 games in the series that were on Nintendo DS and the only 2 games that only got HD cutscenes in the collections. It could also be because those 2 have the worst graphics in the series since they were on the Nintendo DS, so Square thought it would be too much effort to remake them with better graphics.

Clearly this has no correlation to a Nintendo exclusivity deal.

It is just cost saving, because adapting the DS games would demand much more effort.

Otherwise SE would never have remaked COM for ps2 and DDD for ps4.

In addition the two DS games are the worst and the less appreciated games in the serie, so no reason for SE to bother.

This is really nice especially for those who never got into this series but will it be full price?

Lmao  I dont get it, why is it so hard to understand? Because it won't sell on XBO. You think they didn't look at the preorder numbers for KH3 and see that it's the same as Type 0.

It also wouldn't be a smart idea for Square Enix overall because if people have FFXV and KH3 on Xbox and don't have a PS4, that means overall lower sales for other games. They should have completely made FFXV and KH3 exclusive to PS4 so that they would buy a PS4 And have More potential sales for their other games.

I've said this for a while and I'll say it agian, SE should just cancel the Xbox version, if anything put it on the Switch.

Sorry but the problem is that if you are a life long Xbox fan, you haven't played the series before.... so whats more likely, jumping in on the first game or jumping in on the last game.  According to what you are saying, they shouldn't bother at all with KH3. And then 2.8 which is the final prolouge before 3 wont even be on it....

LOL... wait a minutes... You already know the answer.  KH3 is never gonna release anyway so it doesn't matter because its never gonna come to Xbox One anyway... I kid, but damn I have been waiting forever for this game...

Lets be real.

Xbox gamers got screwed bad by this announcement. Unless SE decides to release the games on Xbox One in the west.

:/

2012:

Nomura: One thing was that the Kingdom Hearts series had been released over several different consoles. I wanted to unite the scattered titles at once at the right time. I wanted to bring together the whole story before we turn to its conclusion.

2014:

Yasue: When we first wanted to create Kingdom Hearts III, we made a decision to make 1.5 and 2.5 as well, and the reason for doing that was we wanted the players to actually understand the story.

2015:

Hashimoto: We want to help spread PS4 even more. If that happens, even more games will come out, which would make me even happier. (Laughs.)
Nomura: This week at E3 we announced several titles coming to the PS4: not only FFXV, Kingdom Hearts 3, and World of Final Fantasy, but [also] a new Star Ocean and more. Rather than announce the remake after those titles went on sale, we wanted to give gamers something that would make them happy -- open them up, perhaps, to buying into the PS4.
Nomura: As “KHIII” is a numbered title, it is an expansive work that takes a long amount of time to develop. However, as “0.2” is made in the influence of “KHIII”, it will not be a problem. I thought it would be great for players to get an “early bird” small piece of “KHIII” in the time period that they’re waiting.
Nomura: Just like with [KH1.5] and [KH2.5], I thought about how I wanted to package [KH3D]'s essential story with a product that was a part of [KHIII] and its technology. In result, it was inevitable that the console would be the PS4.
2016:
GamesBeat: 2.8, is that just PlayStation 4, or is it also Xbox One?

Yasue: It's PS4 only.

GamesBeat: But Kingdom Hearts III is multiplatform.

Yasue: Right.

Anyway, a miracle happened. I thought it'd come out after KH3 due to "we're under time constraints" statements. Great they found the time.

Suddenly I feel good about not buying the PS3 versions. Now I can get the worth from PS4 version and wait for KH3.
