Still hard to make judgement from just a 5 sec clip but looks like a slow FPS to keep the suspense going.

What do you guys think?

EDIT: Changed to a youtube link from IGN.

Around the Network

Well, I was ready to watch my first anything ever regarding RE7. Then I realized it was an IGN link....Was still going to do it, but then they asked for my age. IGN doesn't deserve an answer. To any question. Off to youtube.

Oh wow! Just watched the TGS trailer. So it's a total reboot that has nothing to do with the originals? It looks like this game has taken some inspiration from the movie "House Of 1000 Corpses".

I'm not sure how the original characters will fit in with this game or if they're even in this.  Still waiting on more details on this.  It definitely has the "house of 1000 corpse/texas chainsaw masacre theme".

I changed the link to a youtube link.

game is too dark.

Around the Network

Again, what's the point of wasting bullets and time on enemies that won't stay dead? Slowing them down? What for if they're just going to wake up five seconds later while the character walks at the slowest pace ever?

I still need to see more, but geez, couldn't they just show a standard enemy being killed and leave it there?

You are in a poorly lit house?

Anyways.... now I'm sold on this game. Hadnt been interested cause I hated the direction RE had gone since after 4: it just became an action game. But this has got me interested again.

It's nice that combat survived the transition to first person. So many other first person horror games have no combat at all, like Amnesia and Outlast.

Well I get that, but realistic doesn't always mean good. There's a reason why most games and movies are much brighter during night/dark scenes than they should be.
I'm specifically talking about the combat part starting at 0:35. How can that guy even be scary if you only see a black silhoutte directly in front of you? He could look like a cute, somewhat bigger child and you wouldn't know until he's "dead".
Would definitely increase the gamma value once I get the game to see what the hell is going on.

Come on being dark is a legitimate atmospheric direction. Ever play silemt hill? There are even enemies in that game that you don't see at all and all u see are foot prints.

And in case you weren't aware, with games (inherent to their repetitive nature) the best way to instill fear isn't even by making enemies scary, it's by making it really easy to die or by requiring a lot of your limited resources to kill said enemies.
