Xbox Scorpio Making "Amazing Progress," Spencer Says

"There is a lot of time to go, but we feel good about how the things are coming together," he said. "The teams understand the performance spec that we're building. We went through some of the high-level specs at E3 in the video. And it gives the teams time to make sure that they're targeting that performance for their games. Luckily so many of both our internal teams and partners are also building on PC.

"So it's not hard for us to say, 'Okay this is the PC spec that you can expect with what we're building on Scorpio,' so it allows them to make sure they have the assets and capability to deliver. Since we're focusing on a box that can support true 4K and a 4K frame buffer and a lot of PC games already support that; it's not a new language or asset base for them in terms of things that we're asking them to go do. I'm also pretty confident in the content lineup that we'll see."

I'm really excited to see what they have in store.

I don't understand this constant need to talk about something that won't be out for probably still another year.
"Hey guys, guys over here. Don't forget about us. Hey guys GUYS!!!".

The difference Nintendo and Microsoft is fascinating. We have one trailer from something that releases in 5 months. Where as we are getting told about the Scorpio almost every day about something that won't release until probably end of 2017.

Pro is coming out, and the Switch was just announced.  So for now, it's a lot to do with the mindshare marketshare.  Maybe that was redundant, but you get my drift (I hope).

Nintendo did the same thing by announcing the NX last March, though.

I am eager to see how this turns out, especially in terms of backwards compatibility.
Apparently Sony decided to downclock the Pro to give not any extra boost to existing games while MS did it so a small degree on the S version and I hope the same can be done with Scorpio, allowing games to not drop frames anymore and/or games with variable resolution to perform a lot better than before.

Doesn't it already have a release window? Shouldn't we expect it to make progress?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

It is as expected as the "expected" posts.

Awesome,

True 4K

He sure is throwing PC around a lot. I hope he didn't skimp of the CPU upgrade since PCs are more than just GPUs
