Batman:Arkham City PS4 frame rate beats Xbox One version

Pixel wizards Digital Foundry have scrutinized the high-definition version of Batman: Arkham City for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, discovering just how well the Dark Knight’s celebrated open-world adventure performs on current-generation consoles.

According to the extensive report, both versions of Arkham City, which was originally released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2011, utilise dynamic resolution, though maintain the vertical axis at 1080p. The PS4 version is prone to dropping to as low as 1600x1080 depending on the scene.  In terms of frame rate, the PS4 release higher performance across the board, with both editions free of any caps in this respect.

Arkham City’s average frame rate performance clocks in at 30-35fps on PS4, with the Xbox One edition coming in lower. Digital Foundry also noted that the performance can reach as high as 60fps, but when dips do happen, it can fall to around 20fps.

This is not hardware superiority, this is lazy optmization.

30-35 fps? Why not just lock at 30... I'd rather have a consistent frame rate.

Shocking that it is not a locked 30 frames per second on either console. PS4 version runs better but still disappointing. No one really expected a solid 60 frames per second considering they transitioned the whole game from Unreal 3 engine to Unreal 4 but at least lock the frame rate.

don't buy this crappy remaster.

It's bad.

Soo a last gen game.
And they can't even run it at 1080p60fps?
Bad lazy developer's

What the actual fuck? There is absolutely NO reason why the game shouldn't run in 1080p at 60fps with added AA and lightning effects, absolutely no reason whatsoever! Oh, what is that? They are trying to make a quick buck from a lazy port?

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Unless there's a pro version that makes some miraculous changes to these versions, I'm not too excited about these remasters. Dynamic resolution on a 5 year old ps3 game? Plus, the remasters look too vibrant, kills some of the mood.

A terrible remaster on both platforms.

Maybe, but there have been 100s of games released for both platforms now, and PS4 is ahead in fps in most of them.
