As a gtx 970 long pc master race representative I welcome you to the next state of life, enjoy the many virgins this lifestyle will bring you and the constant hard on you will sure to enjoy.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Welcome to the world of tomorrow. The world of awesome graphics and broken games.

Broken games are no longer something exclusive of PC, and the amount of games with day1 patches, prove that.

It got way worse. Mafia 3 crash on launch -> Refund . Forza 3 Horizon, broken frames (stutter, slowdowns). Patch completely broke the game for me.)

BF1 on the other hand runs pretty good.

I have a lot of games on my PC. But those just took the cake. Even AC unity was kind of playable.

Intel Core i7 8700K | 32 GB DDR 4 PC 3200 | ROG STRIX Z370-F Gaming | RTX 3090 FE| Crappy Monitor| HTC Vive Pro :3

Scorpio might be stronger than this right? Gpu computational wise?

PS4pro with checkerboard rendering will probably give this PC a run for its money too.

That seems like pretty decent value, I'd say. I'm not in the loop that well, but I'm pretty sure it's at least decent value. Congratulations!

Logitech F310 is a great controller if you don't mind wires. I think the F710 is pretty much the same but wireless, if that's what you want. Xbox controllers also work well on PC I hear, and with Steam improving controller support soon, Dualshock 4 should also work great on Steam (but getting it to run elsewhere requires just a bit more effort).

As for running mods, for a lot of games you can simply use Steam Workshop to download and install them automatically. Nexus Mods is pretty great for a lot of other games, and Nexus Mod Manager handles the mods pretty well on your PC. Unfortunately if a game doesn't use Steam Workshop, using mods is a different process for each game. Usually each game has a pretty standardized way of using mods, but it still varies a bit. I think it's still a matter of putting files in the correct place though, and not much else.

As for modding Skyrim, you must install SkyUI first. I mean, not technically, but it's the mod you want to use. It fixes the horrendous UI and makes it actually usable. Climates of Tamriel is also pretty good IIRC, and if you've played the start too many times, you can skip it with Alternate Start. Oh, and Immersive HUD is also pretty great for what it does. :) And in general for mods on Skyrim, Nexus is the best place to get them (here's the list of top mods on Nexus). There's quite a few on Steam Workshop, but most of them are on Nexus. Functionally it doesn't make a whole lot of difference which one you use though.

I recently bought my new computer, though I rarely game on it despite it having a 780 ti.
I recommend getting a second monitor. Glorious dual monitor master race is nothing to scoff at.

Oh, but don't cheap out on the monitor. Games look like crap on a hundred dollar monitor. Spend the extra hundred bucks and get a decent one.

RX480 can play most current games at 1080p/60fps maxed out. Pretty good midrange card.

Congratz, keep the ps4 for exclusives and use the PC as a real 4k/high end machine and play the multiplatform games in the best settings ^_^

alright alright :D

but now that you dipped your toes in the water, the next time around you'll beat yourself in the head for buying a 'pre-made' pc :D

in any case, it's a good start and welcome to the master race ^^

1 suggestion though, maybe think about saving up for an SSD (at least 256GB) in the near future. You'll know what I mean when you try one out ;)

Congrats. I mostly use my gaming PC for spreadsheets - may you do not do the same.
