Multi-quotes don't work on mobile.

Digital Foundry about Days Gone:

I observed the pixel structure on a 65-inch Sony 4K display from just two feet away, and then I moved closer. It looked good, seriously good. There is a slight softness compared to the pin-sharp precision of a native 4K presentation, but even close-up, the effect works well - in a living room environment, it should work just fine.

If you think you can discern pixels better than DF, then there's nothing else to add. Other than maybe this from the video you linked:

"Even if it is no native 4K, it does not need to be to show a big increase in picture quality over 1080p". So, my guess is that if someone says they can spot the difference in a living then they'd be deceiving themselves.

At normal living room distances, sure. I said that.

One would be deceiving themselves if they said they could distinguish the difference between a 40" 1080p display and a 40" 4K display at a distance of about maybe 15 feet with normal 20/20 vision.

The argument being pressed is that there is no difference to which I disagree.

But we're not talking about 1080p v 4k here. We're talking about PS4Pro's 4k reconstruction vs 4k. But to your point, 40" is not enough for anyone to systematically differentiate between 1080p and 4k.

In my personal experience and opinion, 50 inches and over is suitable for 4K. Anything less isn't justifiable.

Usually 40" and under is more of a computer display than a TV, but the difference (as it's been since about 2007) more or less boils down to whether the display has a tuner built in and more relevant, the intended use.

Most 4k displays connected to PCs are desktop set ups; either sitting on the desk at normal typing distances, or mounted to a swing mount.

Paid for the preorder last night. Day one owner right here. I'm excited!

I'm aware, but that doesn't change the issue of multiple quotes in a row, especially when the poster I'm talking about didn't quote four different people.

Mine have been working... Android on a Sony M4.

you allready can buy 400€ 4K displays from Hisense and around 200€ more gives you HDR

Just out of interest... do you already have a 4K-TV?

If yes: which model did you choose and what did you pay for it?

If no: which model is your favorite and when will you buy it? Next month (together with the PS4 Por) or later?

good article. thx
