Apple and Android have years advantages in this. They are both multi million companies and invest ALOT money in iOS/Android to make it run that smoothly and get those functions.

Sorry but as an pure tablet nintendo can definitly not compete. Its not as easy to creat a great operating system. And google and apples have more people working on that software then nintendo has employers.

As a tablet it will fail. It will be slow, dont have many well optimized apps and much, much more.

Its more likely people will get controller addons for their existing ipads then get the switch imo.

I don't think the Nintendo Switch will cost that $350-400. That's too expensive. It needs to be around $200-$250.

Maybe because the Switch is a home console? They even said to their investors that there would be future games developed and a successor to the 3DS. The Pokemon creator said that Pokemon would stay on handheld IIRC.

I'm not saying it won't happen, but that all the posts saying "the Switch will obviously be a success because it will have Pokemon" are really jumping too quickly to conclusions. We still don't know if the 3DS will be left to die anytime soon (and I still think it won't), until Pokemon is announced for the Switch you shouldn't count it as an obvious console seller for it.

It's sounding like it's using a Tegra X2 but custom. That put's it near base XBO.
This is a system with Dragon Quest,Pokemon,Monster Hunter,Shin Megami Tensei. That alone it has already won Japan before it's even out. They are manufacturing hype for Switch in the same way they did Revolution (Wii) and it's working. I think this system has potential to be a big seller. Don't think Wii numbers but PSP/GBA numbers. Nintendo has learned from Wii U and doubt it will cost more than 349 at max. I do think it will start at 259 for system and dock and 349 that includes the grip and digital copy of Zelda.
