Pretty much just the name, it's not a good name, it might be a bad name even. But it's not a REALLY bad name.
So basically nothing of consequence

1. Agreed. 32 GB is going to be more than enough for Nintendo themselves and a lot of the 3DS's current developers, but quite a few PS4/X1 games are over 40 GB. Not to mention that there is unlikely to be any internal storage on par with those consoles, meaning some space may be reserved for patches, like with retail Vita games. And even using somewhat optimistic guesswork based on existing Tegra chips, I doubt the Switch will reach PS4/X1 levels of power, though it should surpass the Wii. I suppose the question is whether the Switch is easy enough for at least some devs to continue porting some games to. Looking at the Vita for reference, it is still getting games ported from the PS3 and PS4, at least in Japan. Dagon Quest Builders and Heroes 2, RE Revelations 2, Rayman Legends, LEGO games, and Minecraft stand out, being released well after Sony gave up on their own handheld. 2. Probably. I'm only a bit hesitant because the Switch is so different from the handhelds it will largely be replacing. Of course, even if it only sells half as well as the 3DS, it'll end up at Wii levels. It will almost certainly be the best selling console in Japan since the PS2, perhaps reaching SNES levels. 3. Honestly, I think Switch is a better name than typical for a Nintendo product. Better than "Wii U." 4. I don't know how the Scorpio and Pro will sell compared to the original X1/PS4, but I agree with your sentiment. The Switch won't dethrone any major competitors, even in victory. 6. Agreed. I would also like to point out that if/when the Switch becomes Nintendo's de facto new handheld, those 3DS developers are going to contribute quite a bit. It won't be quite the same as the combined output of Wii and DS games from 2007 through 2010, but I doubt that we'll see any droughts comparable to those on the Wii U. 7. Hopefully there will be an updated version of those things that's more ergonomically friendly. |
7. The pro controller should work on the go right? Even for two players I dont see why the pro controllers wouldn't, so here's hoping. Easy enough solution.

Maybe I'm being a little critical in that aspect. A lot of people have mentioned the same where it's bad, but maybe I'm putting to much emphasis on it.
If this fails I expect Nintendo to become Third Party. FACTS

Oh, yeah I agree. It'll get those games that were on 3DS. But I don't neccesarily think they'll take full advantage of the NS's power. Because developers will still want to be able to make some games that are more budget oriented than their console counterparts. But I don't think that's going to matter, because many of those games high quality mainline games that people love. And I'm sure some games will take more advantahe of the hardware than others. |
While I'm pretty sure it will, I didn't add it in because there wasnt enough evidence to lead me to that conclusion. Nintendo's partnership with apple is interesting though, don't you think
There's no way Apple would allow their store on a non-Apple device.
Besides it would be kinda stupid for Nintendo, why not just have your own Android store like Amazon does where you get 100% of the licensing fees instead of having to share half with Apple.

But couldn't they come to an agreement of less fees for Nintendo and in turn Apples userbase for Nintendo iOS games.

This will more than likely mean these games will only be there for a year or two then disappear (like Wii U). The carts by Eurogamer has leaked are 32 GB. Keep that in mind. 9: Nintendo already confirmed there is not another GPU, ect in the dock. Games will look the same with a resolution bump and better frame rate. It's just the way it is guys. "Providing power to the system" just means the tablet will run off the wall socket, your secret sauce is in another castle. That said, the games will look fine. Noticeably worse than the others, but fine. |
Tell me again why the games run like garbage in handheld mode even though there's nothing to boost the system in the dock? Where does the boost in dock mode come from?

Because the tablet won't run at full power. It will essentially go into a "power saver" mode if you will. In the dock the tablet will run at full power.

Could be, I don't have much knowledge in mobile phone gaming. |
the ns is basically a mobile phone/tablet. Uses same arm socs.
