We're only five months away from getting our grubby hands on the glorious Switch, but one thing that is important to me is the fact whether or not it will have Virtual Console day one.

I think Ninty should stress getting Virtual Console up and running day one, along with a decent library of classic games ranging from NES games to hopefully Gamecube  games (or Wii if it has motion controls). Having VC early on with a good selection, will surely help keep early adopters happy when the games releases for the Switch slows down (which they will).

So what do you think the possibility of VC launching with Switch is?

Around the Network

Absolutely. VC will be all over NS.

My only fear is that they force upgrade fees again. My hope is that with the unification work they did on 3DS/WiiU we'll see a large library that will just give us the games we've already bought. Basically, I've been pitching this for awhile, full digital BC.

I'd be very stressed if it doesn't. I hope they also allow us to transfer our Wii U/3DS VC games for free. No discounted price bullshit. With MyNintendo account and shared NNID, it should be easy, but all dem $$$ might say otherwise.
I'd be fine with discounted prices on Wii U ports though, but that's not likely.

I wont get the NS at launch anyway

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I think it will have more than a virtual console, will have a service too.

Yes - a very large amount I think too. At least 30 title from each retro platform.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Around the Network

Yes, because its not gonna launch with a lot of new games so its gonna rely heavily on VC games. At least the first couple of months. Then all games are gonna come out, its gonna sell more than the ps4 and xone combined, its gonna be awesome.

I hope so, and i hope they don't restart again

Yes. NES, GB and SNES almost guaranteed, with the rest following soon after. Maybe we could even get that long awaited Gamecube Virtual Console.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Hopefully. And if they dont charge for upgrade like they did with the Wii, it would be a good incentive for 3DS/Wii U owners to upgrade, on top of the games for The Switch.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

It should, otherwise it would be dissapointing.
