Forums - Nintendo Discussion - RUMOR: Switch has Touchscreen, More Powerful When Docked, & Mediocre Battery Life

Battery life is dismal. They should really work on it if that's true.

Yeah this seeems like bullshit. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/10/what-we-now-know-about-the-nintendo-switch/

Im pretty sure Nintendo would say if the dock had additional processing power for higher resolutions.

So many contradicting rumors so far, but 3 hours battery life is just unacceptable

Kinda unrelated, but someone knows if the Switch in portable mode has audio output in it, or you can hear the game only through headphones and such?

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Not if they wanted to focus the trailer on the main atraction(portability) and save marketable stuff, like the extra power, at a later date to hype the Switch even more.Makes alot of sense.

Even if true, that could mean there's nothing more than an upscaling chip/HDMI processing chip in the base.

It doesn't mean that it's going to make games run better.

Ah, man; please don't ruin my fading hopes.  The docking station adding more power is one of the last hopes I have for getting the NS at launch.  I know that IGN article said that it was just a way to have TV-out but I'm going to be that guy that keeps on denying reality until it hits me right in the face.

If the docking station allows the Switch to push extra power, it will probably be for resolution.

Love how people say 3 hour battery life is terrible and unacceptable when the 3DS launched with a 3-5 hour battery life.
Still would be great if it was possible to replace the battery WiiU gamepad style for a bigger one. Also this time use a standard charging port like Micro or Type-C USB. That way I don't have to carry a proprietary charger around and can easily use battery banks if necessary

Ooooooo! Please more power when docking. Lots of people seem to have rolled over on this issue. As if it's inclusion doesn't matter. Fuck that. Everybody wanted it.

And you know for a fact that those people didn't criticise the 3DS's battery life?
