Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The end of Touch Generations? Hasta la vista, stylus!

What we saw definitely means no more games with mandatory analog/d-pad + stylus controls that suck ass if you are left handed.

Another victim of the vast right-handed conspiracy! Yeah man, playing DS and 3DS games left-handed was NOT fun.

bye bye

there are a lot of games that have the button control options (Picross)

and there are others that can still work with finger touch controls, if that is what it turns out to be (Theatrhythm)

..and others haven't had sequels since the DS era D: (TWEWY)

True, they all work a lot better with a stylus though. I just hope it doesn't mean developers won't bother with those kinds of games

Kirby Rainbow Curse noooooooooooo psh naw I don't really care, although I did like that game. Miiverse drawings and easier menu navigation will be missed, but not too big a deal atleast to me.

Yep no more touch, no motion control and no 3D -screen. So whats the point of the Switch?

Isn't that the Switch platform?

Trauma Center was already gone... last titles didnt even come out in Europe...
Such a shame we didn't see sequels on the 3DS or WiiU :/

It could be that the screen is a capacitive. You won't be able to draw pretty art though.

Active digitizer pens solve that.

I would pick up Art Academy.

Unified software output?
I still hope there is a stylus add-on.

WarioWare and TWEWY would be dead regardless..

New patent shows a stylus add-on for joycons... will the Touch Generations return in full force!?

Even if this does not go through, we already had the passive Super Mario Maker 2 touch pen.

And remember that Brain Training came back a few days ago.

Brain training maybe but the brand itself died in 2011. The website shut down. I could not be more glad the Wii/DS era is dead. I didn't hate it but compared to Switch era it feels like the dark ages in comparison.
