BC allowed me to give away my ps2 when I got a ps3, ditch my GameCube when I got a Wii, ditch my GBA when I got a DS, etc. I probably use that feature to play old games as much as I play new games. I hope they add it. At least for digital titles.

Why should I know what your primary is? I don't keep tabs on users. I don't care what you own. I only care about the substance of your argument. There are people with more money than sense that have bought consoles and games in the past just to justify talking shit about them. It doesn't mean anything to me what you own or don't own or play or don't play. |
I point out my long term Sony preference to quickly nip in the butt a false accusation of blindly following Nintendo. Dunno if you would have tried to go there, but it is common practice to lable anyone who disagrees with them as a fanboy these days. Just wanted to shed light on that before that could even become a thing.
All I saying is that BotW is a game that is on scale with Witcher 3 (one of my fav games) and has more fluid combat and deeper means of exploration. Yes as I already said, WiiU can run PS4 caliber games based on BotW, but not many games utilized that potential. You are looking in terms of visuals only my friend, and that is where your argument falls short. PS4 caliber means a lot more than just visual power. The WiiU could certainly run Uncharted 4. It would lose a FEW things visually, but not as much as you suggest. After all the WiiU is more powerful than the PS360, and you see how great TLoU and U2 and 3 look.
Also BotW is a large scale open world game with physics we have never seen before on consoles. By comparing it to a linear 3rd person shooter, you are only crippling your own argument. So again, the Switch can run PS4 caliber games on the go. Perhaps it is you who needs to take a step back and look? 😉

Congratulations. This is the most dumb complaint I ever heard in the Internet. Use wiimote and bar for wii games. How they dare! |
It is. I have a projector in my basement that is hdmi connected to a receiver through the ceiling, by the wall, and down into the receiver. No Sensor bar cable could possibly reach where my screen is being projected to (that I know of), so I have to aim the stupid wii mote off to the side or at the ground (which isn't near the screen, making it super awkward).
And nice exageration? In a year where Hillary Clinton jokes about violating federal laws (you know, the ones she got away with?), Trump saying something stupid non stop, and Gary Johnson not being able to name any world leaders as well as saying he "may stop smoking pot if he wins the white house," you think my random comment (stating a personal preference) is the dumbest complaint ever on the internet lol.
With no physical BC, I still think it will have digital BC.
What I mean by this is:
1) Fully BC with all VC games.
2) BC with a slowly built-up catalog of 3DS/WiiU games. Maybe this will be like WiiU's VC was where if you demonstrate you owned the game, you can buy digitally on NS for some very low cost.
#2 cannot be full BC as the NS has no dual-screen functionality. So any games that utilized dual-screens are simply impossible to be on NS. But there are plenty of 1st/2nd party games that could be ported over.

Visuals are all that matters when that's the most reliable metric we can differentiate between generations!
Your argument that the NS can handle PS4 "caliber" titles could apply to 7th gen consoles like PS3 or the Xbox 360 and heck even 6th gen consoles.

This is absolutely ridiculous. From an objective point of view in terms of capability, you can do FAR more on a PS4 than you can on a Wii U. Who says I was just talking about graphical fidelity? Maybe you should look into Uncharted's engine, and how "to the metal" it is,allowing it to get more out of the PS4 than most developers could ever dream of. In fact members of Naughty Dog's team regularly consult on behalf of Sony to help other developers better optimize their games. On top of that, Uncharted 4's physics, AI and animation systems, and how they're some of the most advanced systems ever made for a video game. Don't make assumptions.
The Wii U flat out 100% could not run Uncharted 4. Don't kid yourself. The PS4's memory bandwith is over 7 times larger than the Wii U's. That allows you to do far more complex calculations of every sort for any purpose, and all of it would have to be pared down significantly to get the Wii U's version of Uncharted 4 besides scaling back the anti-aliasing, and simpliying some shaders. That's a fact.

Wii U is a gaming console. It's not supposed to run movies.
There is no point for PS4 technologies and power in case when your gaming library is full of shit.

Uncharted is a good looking scripted cinematic experience that have nothing to do with gaming industry.
I'm not defend Nintendo, I defend actual games.

You underestimate the talent at Naughtydog, as I am sure they could squeeze more out of the WiiU a non-developer like you or I could dream of. 😉

This is the most incorrect statement I have ever read. AI, scale, physics, etc all play a factor. Fact of the matter is, BotW is on a Scale that is bigger than 90% of all PS4 games, physics deeper than ALL PS4 games, and has a smoother combat system than all PS4 games that fit this category. It is a PS4 quality game, Uncharted graphics or not. And we only saw the FIRST area of the game.
Only looking at the visuals is a very backwards way of thinking.
