Sorry, but the Wii U BC was probably the worst Nintendo one. I'd rather have none than have to boot up a second operating system and be forced to used the wii mote and bar just to get a wii game running.

Congratulations. This is the most dumb complaint I ever heard in the Internet. Use wiimote and bar for wii games. How they dare!

I am buying the Switch to be able to play PS4 caliber games on the go. Say what you want, but the ability to swotch between TV and handheld is a huge deal for me.

There is a lot of potential for Nintendo to knock it out of the park with or without BC. However if they did 3DS BC, that would be HUGE.

You wont be playing PS4 calibre games on the go.  It will be more like slightly better WiiU graphics.

Backward compatibility has to be broken eventually if gaming is to progress. It's a necessary sacrifice.

3DS uses cartridges, would be pretty cool if it had 3DS BC.

Oh and even without the same physical media digital BC is still possible, the Vita had it for PSP games despite not being able to play the physical versions.

I doubt it will have 3DS BC. How would you play 3DS games without second screen?

Both screens tpgether on the big 6.2" screen? Where's the problem?

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

It is still not confirmed that this screen supports touch input. So that can be a problem.

No. The cards in the demo has no lip space that the 3DS has. And the card is thicker than a DS and a 3DS.

Cos you need to stack the two screens vertically, you'll need more than 6.2' screen.

On the topic, does this also mean that NS wont be getting main pokemon games? So far, pokemon has always required BC between 2 handheld gens

PC is basically forever BC

That seems to be the case, and I'm not really upset either. The console is switching from CDs to carts again. I don't expect them to make the tablet somehow take CDs as well. It would be cool if 3DS cards were compatible, but I won't be expecting that either.
