And in any such case no where does Nintendo outline the full functionality of the dock. People shouldn't say it's confirmed when Nintendo hasnt themselves said it. I dont expect a discrete Gpu but people are still reconstructing Nintendo's words.

When the company most interessed and worried about the system put that the main functionality is tv output and charging without being explicity on enhacing the system I wouldn't be very confident that it is really that much more enhancement.

Exactly. We do not know whether the dock has a cooling system or enables the Tablets internal fans that were reported, we don't know if the" scalable Gpu" runs at a high clockrates due to a constant power supply. It's unlikely that there is another Gpu hidden (and I never expected one) but to say the dock doesn't afford extra power is "confirmed" is a false statement.

The same source that said the reveal is this week said there a $100 difference in 2 SKU's. There could be a standard dock and Premium dock and Nintendo's generic statement about the" Main Function" of the dock will still hold true. Lets just wait for actual confirmation of details before throwing the word "confirmed" around, that's all im saying ;)

A powerful(relatively) handheld with TV out. That is all.

We couldn't stop all the rumor threads before confirmation and I don't think we will be able to stop people from guessing when nintendo is so deviating on it

Speculation is all good, just as long as it's not sold as fact.

When you connect your notebook to the poweroutlet it charges the battery and power the notebook, so? It doesn't necessarily means it make it more powerfull.

Probably on handled mode (mobile mode) , the GPU and CPU will be on half power mode to save energy consumptions , because the previous tegra capability can run half or 1/3 it's power when it's enable. The if it's connect to a doct station  it will runs with it's full power because no more energy saving need it.

Ok then... but if the dock only allows for more power from Tegra, we can still call it handheld with better capability on the dock... any notebook have performance choices and it improves when using poweroutlet.

But each passing new after the reveal seems to suggest less powerfull than expected.

I am fine with this and what I wanted Nintendo to do. Unified library and ability to choose to play on my couch or on the go.

Really? my laptop (not notebook) has several power options but none of them are exclusive to being plugged in to a power outlet.

Either way a notebook is a notebook, which is still a laptop, which is still a PC... If we loose the semantics here, I think what people are really expressing is their disappointment at its suspected specs. But Nintendo didn't  need the Wii to be portable for it to be weak AF. I think it's a weird to debate whether it's X or Y when Switch can clearly function as both.
