You're trying to compare the reveal of a new console with the reveals of new versions of existing consoles. That's all the proof needed to show that your exhibits are wrong ^^.

He included the Wii U though.

Well.... "Congrats on making a better reveal than the Wii U"? It doesn't really sound like a compliment though :/

If they get the casuals with non gameing content... so it sells to everyone, and its priced cheap.
They have another Wii on their hands, I think.

It's the #1 Trending video on YouTube, and it managed to get more views than the Breath of the Wild trailer, in less than 24 hours, so the Switch and Breath of the Wild are their top 2 viewed YouTube videos....Gonna be one hell of a launch!

Strange that you say you don't want to compare too much to Sony and MS, but besides putting them on the OP you also make several concessions to make Switch numbers be higher...

Anyway I hope they get good sales out of this.

Isn't that just proof that Youtube as a whole is peaking right now ?
Also ps4pro reveal wasn't as exciting, most people just wanted to know the specs. NX reveal on the other side has a lot of features that are better explained in a video format.
Nintendo is also the most popular amongst all fanbases. Both Playstation and Xbox fans tend to express interest for Nintendo announcement, which don't always translate in sales.
Awesome numbers though. Even if it might not directly translate in sales numbers, NX already has great product awareness.

I seriously doubt the bolded. Just because we keep an open mind and would watch a video about the next ninty console doens't mean much.

Oh it does! It shows that there are more people Hyped about it or at least know what it is compared to the previous console they done.

The last thing we want is another Wii U situation. Judging from the Youtube viewes..... it is one step ahead of it.

That's exactly my point. Other fanbases keep an open mind and would watch a nintendo video more than if it was Playstation or Xbox.

Sorry. My bad. Thanks for clearing that up.

This is just something that I found to be quite interesting and possibly telling for the Switch and how it is being recieved.

Exhibit A: Zelda: Breath of the Wild has become Nintendo's most viewed video and was Nintendo's most liked video of all time. It garnered more than 150K likes and 9.2 million views since June 16, 2016.

Exhibit B: Nintendo Switch has become Nintendo's most liked video with over 260K likes and counting, effectively outdoing Breath of the Wild's record within 11 hours of Switch's trailer. Not only this, but as of this comment, Nintendo Switch is the #1 trending video on youtube with 4+ million views.

Exhibit C: The Nintendo Wii U reveal (Wii U Gamepad Virtual Tour) has 1.2 Million views and 5k likes since June 5, 2012.

Exhibit D: In comparison to other 1st party hardware developers with recent hardware reveals within the year of 2016, for example the PS4 Pro video by Sony has only recieved 900K views since September 7th, 2016 with only 15K likes. And Scorpio with 3 million views and 25K likes. One S has recieved 10 Million views and also 77k likes since June 13, 2016. I am aware than Sony and Microsoft have many consumers who viewed hardware reveals on other sites...but the thread clearly states Youtube Performance. That's what I'm choosing to compare due to accesibility and since Youtube is such a huge platform, I thought this would be notable.

Let it be known that I'm a proud owner of a Wii U, PS4 Slim, and now Xbox One S. Not trying to start any silly wars here. I am aware that Nintendo is getting its butt kicked in home console sales compared to PS4 and Xbox One...I know this. I just found it interesting that Switch has gotten this much exposure within 11 hours compared to many other hardware reveals. It seems as if it's being recieved well. Let it be also known that I BELIEVE, this most likely won't  coorelate with Switch's sales in any way. But if you think otherwise, let it be known.

So what do you guys think, is this potentially telling for Nintendo Switch's performance? Discuss, if you're not sick of Switch threads.

Nintendo Wii U reveal trailer has 11 million views (5 years ago when these type of videos gathered much less views)

PS4 reveal has 33 million views

I think Switch has so many views because it was teased for so long and everybody wanted to see what it was.

Well it's about options at the end of the day. You can't compare it to the WiiU, Pro etc reveal fairly for several reasons:

1) it was the only place to watch the reveal online
2) it wasn't leaked like the Pro was with specs etc
3) there was no show like E3 on Nintendo direct to watch it on
4) it's a new console not a mid gen upgrade

The YouTube performance you ask for reminds me of that cartoon where a teacher is asking several animals to climb a tree to find out who is best.

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=cartoon+teacher+asking+animals+to+climb+tree&oq=cartoon+teacher+asking+animals+to+climb+tree&aqs=chrome..69i57j33.12020j0j4&client=ms-android-h3g-gb&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#imgrc=umNz8wWKOg33FM%3A

Is the video bad? Is the console bad? I don't think so. I love the concept of the NS. I waited for an hour to watch the reveal and shared the video with all my friends. I even hope to buy one sometime in 2018. However, using YouTube to compare it with other releases is unnecessary and unfair to both Nintendo Switch and other consoles.
