I wouldn't be too surprised if all of this actually turned out to be correct. Nintendo has been leaking a lot lately, and this seems reasonable for the HH part. So I'm really, really hoping the docking station can provide some extra juice! Or else this will not sell all that well. Core gamers won't buy it if it's not as good as the XB1 at least, I figure.

Honestly, Nintendo could have made the most powerful console in the market, with all the third party support possible and great exclusive games, and it wouldn't attract core gamers (I mean, MS/Sony/PC gamers) just because of stubborness and brand loyalty. They should really focus on keeping their userbase and attract casual gamers again. Make it cheap, accessible and marketable. Provide a good games lineup. And don't try to fight tech wise, it's just pointless. That's just my opinion, though.

Yes, because Nintendo gamers aren't stubborn right? You decided to classify Nintendo games as the best there will always be as gospel and that people wouldn't buy a Switch stronger than PS5/XboxNext with all third parties because of stubbornes right?

Some people may preffer Halo or Gran Turismo, yes it seems impossible, but it can be. And you talk about people that are attached to franchises they play for 10 years and ignore some that play over 30 years.

Nope, I've never said that we aren't stubborn. We definitely are. Brand loyalty are strong in the console market, that applies to all the big three. Not everyone obviously, but an awful lot of gamers can't possibly imagine the idea of changing brands each gen. And that's fine, to each his own. I'm a PS4/WiiU owner and had no problems, although I admit I'm more of a Nintendo fan. And, yeah, obviously there are people who prefer Halo or Gran Turismo. That's exactly my point. It's hard to convince people who were playing those games for years to jump into the Nintendo ecosystem.

Now, it would be more easy to convince them if it's a cheap console with a totally different concept. Not working as a substitute to their main gaming system, but as a complementary console.

Ok, so since we both agree It will be a hard battle to Nintendo... but since 3rd party support is the biggest plus for X1 and PS4 if Nintendo manages to get similar level and performance they have a good chance of growing their userbase, but looking at the handheld marketing shrinking I'm not that holpefull they will sell over 3DS+WiiU

Humility & common sense about what??? Explain yourself please!

"Secret sauce","GPGPU","DirectX11 extentions","Lazy Devs","Super Fast EDRAM" and all of that other mass hysteria that was completely at odds with the Wii Us form factor, tech and raw power draw. After the Switchs reveal how could any reasonable person expect Red Red Redemption 2 or any other AAA 8th gen port to be announced for the NX?

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Ok I now understand better the context of your affirmation, I agree with you, after the Switch reveal, believing AAA PS4/X1 kind of games could come Nintendo's way is indeed crazy, before the reveal, anyone was entitled to have every kind of hopes, I know I was hoping for Nintendo to at least make a home console that could be on par with X1/PS4 performance & a X86 architecture that would allow 3rd parties to port games easily at a very reduced cost. Instead of embracing the gamer market, they are running away from it, running after the casual Phone/Tablet market & leaving Nintendo fans in the dust, Wii ( & to a certain extent the DS) success was the worst thing that could have happened to Nintendo fans, they got drunk by the sales & fooled themselves into thinking they could recapture that market, leading us to the present situation with the Switch, a single basket where Nintendo is putting all their (home & handheld) eggs. If this doesn't fly of the shelves, some serious firing of old farts at Kyoto headquarters needs to happen!!!

I don't think it can sell at the same price point as the PS4/xbox1 if it ends up being weaker than those two because I can easily see the average gamer irrationally think of it as a lesser machine regardless of the NS's portability.  Nintendo is marketing it as a home console and that's how a lot of people are going to judge it.

If they succeed in market-tricking the consumers to believe it's home console, maybe it can have some success, a gamer with eyes will see the Switch for what it really is: a handheld with tv output... I'm sorry but handheld form factor, screen, battery, cartridges & mobile components make it a handheld, plain & simple, yes it does have a tv output but so did the PSP!!!

If you don't agree, well eat my shorts ;P

Nah, I see the NS as a handheld as well (I think we actually agreed with that on a previous reply).  In fact, I think it's an Nvidia Shield with a tv-out that's been repurposed by Nintendo as a gaming tablet -- which puts Nintendo into an even redder ocean with companies like Apple and Samsung in the tablet market; which is funny considering how much Nintendo talks about 'blue oceans' and not wanting to compete directly with Microsoft and Sony.  In all honesty, the NS just seems like an elaborate mulligan on the Wii U; it's what they wanted the Wii U to be back in 2012 but the technology wasn't there at the time to make it happen.

Sorry for not being clear, when I wrote "If you don't agree, well eat my shorts ;P", I wasn't talking to you wombat123, I was talking to the readers on the forum, I konw you agree & share my opinion on this matter, sorry for inducing you in error ;P

Funny I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday, they want to exit the home console power paradigm  where they have experience & faithfull fans, but are not afraid of entering a "redder ocean" market where they have less experience, few fans, where the casual market is very volaitle & shifting running from one fad to another, going against giants the likes of Apple, Google, Samsung, where even Sony & MS are breaking their teeth... it baffles me!!!

If you are interested I made a post that kinda speaks about that issue and how I see now the Wii & to some extent the DS success, having harmed Nintendo, setting them on running after the casual market mirage...

Well Nvidia was supposedly working on a new Shield (gaming?) tablet with the Tegra X1 in it. That never got released, I wonder if NS is the reason why.

No prob.  You're probably just like me and venting your frustration over what the NS turned out to be.  If it ends up selling great then that's awesome but it looks like a rough road to travel.  It's like NIntendo is so stubborn about getting kids and casuals back that they're willing to compete directly against companies like Apple and Samsung in the tablet market -- both of which are a hell of a lot more intimidating than Microsoft and Sony.

I'll probably warm up to the NS in a couple of months or in a year but right now it's just vent-city for me.

I've updated my answer & corrected the typos, please do read it :)  http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8113149

I agree with you, I'm venting & I'm very disapointed, Nintendo trying to fool me into believing that this is a home console really is a step too much. Again I recognize a handheld console when I see one, granted it has the TV output & some home console-like features like the local 2 player multiplayer, but it's a handheld with TV output & regular controller pairing option or a tablet with controllers attached & half-decade regular tablet features that are the tv output & controller pairing, nothing more!!!
