it will make the Switch as powerful as a PS6.

No way you can put internal HDD in there, most likely it will have support for every kind external memory same like Wii U.

Why not? There's more than enough room for a 2.5" HDD.

Because Nintendo doesn't like internal HDDs.

But it's not internal, it'd be in the dock, it doesn't even have to come with one, just have a slot you can put one in when you need more space!

Makes a lot of sense to me.

the cradle doesnt look much bigger than the tablet itself. and the tablet is around a 6" size, judging by that the question is what can they fit into that cradle. My guess are ports (hdmi, usb, ethernet and power), some sort of charging array and that's pretty much it.

I believe it's suggested 1TF of power is actually what you get when it's docked and a little down clocked when used as a mobile device.

We all gotta know who we are dealing with here. This is Nintendo. The wont have an SOC in the device itself, along with a screen, battery....etc then have another in the dock and still expect to hit a $300-$400 price point. Somethings gotta give.

That tablet part on its own (screen, wifi, internal storage, APU, batteries) is already gonna be costing them over $200. then factor in the tablet controller dock, and then the tablet dock itself.

This thing isn't designed to be about power, and that is why Nintendo isn't saying anything about its power or specs.

They are usinf carts..... they wont have an internal HDD. There is no rwason for them to. I think the inoy reason they tablet even comes with internal storage is juat for downloaded content and save files. And that's probably cause if they have the save files be on the carts the carts will be more expensive to make.

I don't even see them supporting external HDDs, cause everything seems to be happening on the tablet side of things. The could support SD cards tho as an expansion option.

I meant internal in dock, external would be outside of dock. It doesn't make at all sense because it's Nintendo, they dont care about HDDs at all, they will not make space in dock for HDD because in reality only small number of people would buy HDD for Switch.

Keep in mind the Microsoft Book is powered by Nvidia, and that is a dual gpu set up: integrated (tablet) and discreet (keyboard/dock). http://www.tweaktown.com/news/47928/surface-book-dual-gpu-setup-custom-1gb-gddr5-maxwell/index.html

Remains to be seen if the Switch is more than just a fancy docking station.

So the Switch won't support digital games??? What about game patches?

If you can't have a HDD say goodbye to third party support, hell even Digital Nintendo Titles. There are games on PS4 with over 50gb of additional content and patches. I don't think Nintendo will go backwards after the WiiU and not allow you to use HDD's.

We're in an age when games are 50gb+. If Nintendo wants to support third party dlc/patches and full digital game releases they will support HDD, and if the dock cannot house a HDD then they really missed out.

"Not caring about HDD's" is not an excuse for bad design.
