Forums - Gaming Discussion - Switch is about to absolutely murder everything in Japan

Pokemon + Splatoon + Yokai Watch + Animal Crossing + Monster Hunter + Mario + Atlus RPGs + home-console scale games + portability = ......
Seems a winning combination to me.

Yeah, good point. Look at Nintendo, reviving the Japanese home console industry with a handheld.

Haha! I like the sound of that!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Switch Japanese Sales ALONE > Wii U Worldwide Lifetime Sales, if Nintendo plays their cards right....which honestly, as far as Japan goes, isn't hard to do.

Judging by the size of the controllers that come with it that thing was pretty much tailor made for japan, most people in the western world will probably develop arthritis using the switch

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Pretty much. All japanese gamers care about over there is JRPGS and Nintendo 1st party content. The Switch will easily be able to cater to those audiences. Dragon Quest XI and Splatoon...fully playable on the go and at home...the thing is going to kill any other console on the market.

So you thibk ps4 will stop selling now?

Ofcourse it wont. The Switch might even make consoles more popular in Japan again.

Surpsied to see you here (not really). What people are really saying, its going to crush PS4 in overall sales in Japan.

There will still be an audience for PS4 in Japan because of exclusives. But it will be bad for Playstation if those exclusives start making... the switch.

Just what I thought.

BTW consoles are still popular in Japan.  The ps4 sells Japan like numbers in the UK,  France,  Germany etc.  We wouldn't say consoles aren't popular in those other nations.
