It's funny that now everyone is saying a price point over $250 is a-ok, one week ago: "Nintendo can't sell this for over $200!!!! 3DS failed at that price!!!".

Three seconds of Mario, that's all it takes, lol, just like I predicted.

Yes :) a mario that returns to galaxy/sunshine/64 style gameplay.

Thats worth a extra 50$ :p

Funny how you not mentioned 3D World even when looks like the level design is quite inspired on it, way more than Sunshine at least.

This is completely pointless...

I think that it's on the right track to be as massive as the Wii, but we don't have enough info on it to be sure. Conceptually, it's sound. It still needs that revolutionary UI and western exclusives to be successful.

So it is basically an even more confusing device than the Wii U. The only difference is they dumped the Wii name brand so that hopefully parents will pick it up for their kids.

Being that it is mobile they will need to either partner with Apple or Google to get apps on it or kids will not take the time for it.

There are still a lot of if's, and the games still are what can make or break it. It is up in the air if they will actually come through with the games though. Even with all the supposed supporters they could end up giving us some crappy ports or just digital editions.

I am also surprised that the Switch will have enough power to play games like Breath of the Fire or Wind or whatever the next Zelda game is called.

Lastly is this the end of handhelds for Nintendo or is this what we are stuck with from now on? I would love to still keep them separate, but it seems this is now our handheld. Correct?

Why the end of handhelds?

I literaly see a handheld here, my question is: will we ever see another nintendo home console  (that is powered only with an outlet) after WiiU?

Persona 5 on PS3, I won't need next gen!

lol, good luck with that. Even the PS4 doesn't get many Western exclusives outright and it may have already sold more than Switch might in its life cycle.

It might sell well, and might sell bad. Totally depends on Ninty, and I hope to God they don't mess this up.

Wait, what is confusing about Switch? I mean, they pretty much explained in 3 minutes what we can do with it. It's miles ahead the WiiU concept, though it's obviously inspired in it. The problem is that people didn't really know what the Gamepad could do. I mean, it's like a tablet for playing games home, so what? That's not marketable. Now, a home console you can take with you? It's really straightforward. This trailer is perfect, and it really shows that Nintendo marketing is now doing things right compared to the WiiU era imo.

if it's supposed to replace the WiiU and 3DS, it's going to do poorly (in comparison with the 3DS)

If it's only going to replace the WiiU, it will do better than the WiiU, I think 30 millions lifetime probably. Which would be a success for Nintendo in the home console market.

What you say is perfectly fine by me IF it will have CURRENT GEN QUALITY HOME CONSOLE GAMES (MULTIPLATFORM), I don't think Nvidia should be selling the GTX 1080 for excellent performance in demanding games if all the people could simply use a Tegra processor that costs a fifth instead that consumes very little Watts and doesn't even need a heatsink and a fan. Will the majority of people believe it will have all the AAA home console games? (or capable of).

Can you really call this "home" console? (not a real question, more like an invite to think careful about this particular aspect, I know well Nintendo markets it at a "home" console, but every PR guy in every company tells lies)

PS: I really agree with you about the WiiU marketing problem, you nailed it in few words.

WHAT THE HELL NINTENDO?!? Have you learn nothing from WiiU. The Nintendo switch is meant to be a home console first, yet you will require everyone to pay for a screen that you may or may not use and have the power limited due to the need for portability of the device. The main issue is going to be battery life, people will expect and want something similar to an IPAD battery life but will probably get something that was worst then the WiiU gamepad. I wouldn't be surprise if the Nintendo switch battery life is under 1 hour.

The Nintendo Switch is too big to be a portable device and not powerful enough to be a home console.
