yeah, also all the negative opinions are common when it comes to Nintendo. If this was unveiled by other company would be the sickest handheld ever.

That is the problem, as a handheld, a replacement to the 3DS, it is really nice.

As a home console it's rather meeeh...

Since I game less & less on my 3ds & when I do it it's mostly at home, why would I pay for a battery, a screen & expensive low power mobile tech for my home gaming???

I hope they sell it for 200$ tops, otherwise their 75M (3DS+Wii U) market is about to suffer rather serious shrinkage, George Costanza style...

Nintendo went from 250M sales (Wii+DS) to 75M sales (3DS+ Wii U) & I'm afraid they are Switching to 35-40M sales with this Garmin GPS shaped Tablet!!!

We don't know yet the insides of this but unless the dock enables some kind of radical power upgrade, which does not seem likely, it will be seriously underpowered for a home console...

Old Suits at Nintendo really need to retire, keep the game creators & get rid of old dusty last century management!

As a die-hard Nintendo gamer, I don't see me buying the Switch any time soon, it really did switch my mind on buying Nintendo next console!!!

Vgchartz, where dreams and hype come to die.

Lot of negativity but a lot of "yes" in the poll so either people are lying to themselves or we have phantom votes.

I like it, it's pretty much what was rumored from the start. I could see how people dont like it as a home console, but IMHO Ninty hasnt made a truly great home console since SNES so its whatever at this point. Portables are different they do make that good, so as long as the price isnt too high, im probably on board.

where are all the people that swore it wasnt gonna be a hybrid?

In the current market state I would say: in japan yeah, in the west less than Xbox one

Personally it's looking to be exactly what I was realistically hoping for, but it is going to be challenging to win over the mass market. The market for dedicated handhelds shrinks every day, it's too large for a pocket, a bit complex and fragile for young kids, and could be perceived as too expensive for a handheld and too weak for a home console. My hope is that it'll sell ~80M, but it could just as well be half that.

Imagine if Nintendo allowed Android games to also be sold through the e-shop?

I've been saying that for over a year, lol.

Doubt it but there is at least one Mobile developer listed on that press release. Gung-ho made PAD. Plus there is still the rumor that the mobile part of the device can sych with phones in some way.

I suspect it to sell similar to the 3DS hardware-wise, maybe a little more, but it will sell a lot more software than Wii U + 3DS combined and will have tons of peripherals. Nintendo is trying to find their niche in the market, and excel at that. I think they've found it.

I don't see this selling as well as the two consoles its replacing. I see it being too weak for the home console crowd, and too expensive for the portable crowd.

I see it selling between the Gamecube and SNES - 20-40 million - which would mean about 35 million less than the Wii U and 3DS combined.

I agree 100000% with you!!!
