Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Switch, what did you like, and what did you dislike?

That's "NX"? I am kind of disappointed from this. Excpeted much more from Nintendo Switch after all the hype it got in the last few months... It's basically just a Wii U with the addition of being portable... Name is awful too (Nintendo Next or Nintendo Nexus would have been much better)... Also the whole hybrid thing hasn't been implemented good by Nintendo, who goes out with such a big tablet thing to play outside? It looks completely embarrassing if people play with these things outside imo. Why not make it in the size of a smartphone?

I like it. The hybrid concept, working as a home and portable console.
I dont see a problem with its size in the portable version. Do anyone still carry a 3ds only in its pockets?
As for specs, if its on par with ps4 or xboxone, it will be just fine. Consoles don't need to be super high-end tech to be fun.

If the console was more little then you couldn't detach the screen to play it from a distance or local multiplayer as the trailer shows. Is not that big btw, tons of people wears tablets, this is not bigger than that.

Also no, WiiU was build around the 2 screen concept, this has nothing to do with that, is no wiiu2.

I love it. The concept is highly marketable, and I really like the possibility of taking my Zelda on the go. Problem is, I don't see a way in which this console would be cheap.

I liked pretty much everything, the dock looks kinda meh but I'm shure the retail version will look different, just like the Wii U did. I now just hope the SCDs will be sold to boost its base power...

It does suck the Wii U gamepad stuff was removed though. Wouldn't have been all that hard to have it switch out with a button as well so both a pro controller and gamepad could work just fine. Like Wind Waker HD

I guess you are right, but people has been spending the whole gen hating on the gamepad (I actually like it, even if I can see where it fails) so looks like the right choice was to not make that kind of gimick again, and they did it.

I'm surprise with the amount of people telling this console is build around a gimmick, like... what? Being able to turn into hadnheld is a gimmick? Someone must look that word on the dictionary.

Seriously. I dont think you guys know what a gimmick is. On the contrary, this is the most straight foward Nintendo hardware in what? 10 years?

Like:
- High powered handheld
- Unified library
- Pretty software
- The simple elegance of the switch function

Dislike:
- The new Pro controller, particularly its face buttons
- All the remaining unknowns (price, battery life, etc)

This is pretty much a Wii U 2. Or if you prefer, it is exactly what the Wii U should have been from the get go.
I really like what I'm seeing. Especially the new 3D Mario game. :D
Day one. No matter the specs, I'm already sold.

Only thing I don't like is the freakishly small "half-controllers", which I don't think I'll ever use. xD

But WiiU is builded around the doble screen concept of DS, this is a pretty standart console actually that turns into a high end handheld with detachable controllers, I don't really feel it like a WiiU beyond the fact that most games on the trailer were WiiU games.

Almost no games used the double screen concept to a respectable degree. The controller screen was mostly used for inventory/map, and barely ever enhanced gameplay in any meaningful way.

So yeah, the Switch is what the Wii U should have been in the first place.

I think its fine. I like the NX name better than Switch but the latter makes more sense and tells you what it is. Hell i knew it was a hybrid just by the name. Now Ninty doesnt have to worry about having to support two different systems, which is good for gamers.
