Are you N-Hus incarnation?... Hmm, probably not he at least have some concept about tech-stuff...

Wow, instead of responding to my many valid points illustrating Sony's many failures you settled instead for a shallow attack delivered with the whit of a 12-year-old, I'm obviously out of my league here.

Yes, you've presented your valid points earlier. LOL. I think way you are responding shows you are out of your league for sure. Anyway you'll be kicked out soon so no worry. You'll be back where belong, kid.

My way of responding? You mean using complete sentences and pointing out clear and obvious flaws in the other person's argument such as your refusal to give any evidence to counter my claims or support your own? Indeed I'm clearly outmatched here, guess I'll have to learn how to fake victory while avoiding establishing anything pertinent to the subject at hand if I have any hopes of contending with an individual such as yourself. :)

I love how Sony fans are convinced that HD-DVD can't come back and win the Format War against Blu-Ray, but are convinced that PS3 will come back and win the Console War against X360 and Wii. They use all the same arguments that are used against them and never seem to get the irony...

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

blu ray won the format war, why you people are so troubled with this? it's better of dvd or hddud, so you should be glad......

First. I'm not arguing. Second. I think your belief about long live of standard DVD is totally wrong. Sure right now it dominate but soon (2 years) it will be as outdated as VHS before.

It just sounded like you were arguing because you are counter-claiming just about everything nathantay has to say, which kinda sounds like arguing...

But anyhow, you could be right; in two years DVD may be supplanted by another format. It may take longer. It may take less time. It may not even be Blu-Ray or HD-DVD, but another format. They might both exist in the long run. You know, kinda like consoles, where nobody has a dominant share, and even if one did, there is no reason why other formats cannot compete (PS2 vs Xbox vs GCN comes to mind).

It's all kinda hard to say right now, but at least for me, if a player doesn't drop to 200 bucks or less, I frankly couldn't be bothered. But that's just me.

You can get a hddvd player on amazon.com for 299.99 or get it used for around 240.00 right now so in a few months you will be able to get a hddvd player under 200.00. You also get 5 free hddvd movies when you purchase the player new.

how can you win something where market saturation hasn't even been achieved yet. Its no different than saying the PS3 was doomed the day the Wii was released. Good god it hasn't even been a year yet.

Also, unlike Blu-Ray, you can play an HD-DVD on a regular DVD player as a regular DVD until the price of HD-DVD players comes down more. Its the perfect transition format.

Funny thing is the same people claiming that Blu-ray is owning the market are the same people who say the PSP are PS3 are in good shape, even though the PSP and PS3 have much lower market shares than HD-DVD.

Those people arent saying that the PS3 is in good shape because of their marketshares - they are saying that the PS3 is still in good shape because they have a lot of interesting stuff coming to it in the future.

HD-DVD camp doesnt really have anything specific to point to in order to come back.

55% - is that the US figure or the global figure? Seeing as Blueray has 96% of the japanese market and 80% of the European market (i saw these figures today, dunno if they are correct to be fair), what are the shares on the US market? HDDVD should be market leader in the US segment in order to get the 55% global  figure correct, no? Or are euro/japanese sales so low they dont really affect the global market that much?

Are blueray gamedisks also included in these stats?

As you've yet to offer any evidence to the contrary all you really can do is assume that I am, in fact, an expert, or at least right, lol.
