The European and Japanese markets combined aren't even as big as the US market for the hd format, so it doesn't really mater who is winning in those markets right now there to small. Even the US market is to small right now to say who is going to win. Just answer this in the US if there is roughly 1.5 million people with PS3 or bluray player and only roughly 300k with hddvd player or 360hddvd why does bluray only have around 55% of the US market share. I don't think "sales days" like you say can make that kind of impact on the market share. Also everything you say about bluray being superior than hddvd doesn't mater to the majority of the consumers.

Lol, where did you think I stood on the issue? Sure I'm against Blu-Ray but I'm not a tool like your who takes a side out of blind devotion. Unfortunatley its still too early to tell in this race so don't think I've given up hope for HD-DVD. There are more HD-DVD players in the US than Blu-Ray players so depending on the movies and who pushes more the tables can turn very easily.

I still believe HD-DVD is superior in its allowments and advocation of Hybrid but that doesn't mean its garanteed success, I'm not sure where you thought this was going but not everyone is as one sided on an issue as yourself. And success of Blu-Ray still doesn't mean success for Sony's PS3 I'm afraid. Pathetic really, first you fans try and say the PS3 is the best console, when that doesn't work you try comparing it to the PC instead and now you're left to arguing what disc format it supports, lol. What next, are you going to be forced to arguing the PS3's memory storage function is better? lol.

Bottom line is Sony is a terrible company with terrible practices and terrible ethics. If Blu-Ray does succeed I hope its forced to allow porn at the very least and I can at least sleep at night knowing Sony doesn't have direct control over it.

Well even if the japanese/eu market are small now, they wont be forever. And if the marketshares in Japan/EU stay the same as the market grow, it will eventually mean that a 45% NA share will translate into a much smaller global share.

And quite frankly - there isnt much favouring the HD DVD over Bluray on the EU market. Those 200 dollar walmart players wont be on the european market this christmas..

The hybrids are another way for a BR win .First the announced hybrids (LG ) are readers that can only play the HD-DVD format but cant access to the interactive menus .BR they play it perfectly .So buyers of the hybrids are going to buy the fims preferently in BR format . BR allows porn ,anyone saying the contrary dont know what they are speaking about .Thats the problem with MS FUD ,once they spread it the wow factor goes to the fake new and once it is proved fake no one is listening anymore ...that leaves masses of distrubed fanboys as Gballzack here saying nonsenses hour after hour day after day . Br isnt only Sony ,if they could only understand that ..... Its only Sony haters after all .Who cares ?
