I want one. Day one. Hopefully Zelda is at launch.

When even YOU are optimistic about something, that's saying a lot!

That's "NX"? I am kind of disappointed from this. Excpeted much more from Nintendo Switch after all the hype it got in the last few months... It's basically just a Wii U with the addition of being portable... Name is awful too (Nintendo Next or Nintendo Nexus would have been much better)... Also the whole hybrid thing hasn't been implemented good by Nintendo, who goes out with such a big tablet thing to play outside? It looks completely embarrassing if people play with these things outside imo. Why not make it in the size of a smartphone?

Interesting. However, this thing needs to be $199, $249 AT MAX, for it to succeed. If Nintendo thinks they can get $299-$399 for this thing, they're fooling themselves. Also, that Dpad is pure shit.

I say $299 myself. It is pretty strong device or concept considering the portability of it.

I might myself be willing to accept just a bit higher, however it would be dead in the water above $299.

Anyone else noticed that the trailer shows King Boo in Mario Kart? He's not in MK8, is he? Odd.

Look again, you will also see something similar to Double Dash. I think safe to assume that is Mario Kart Switch....

You're right. I focused only on King Boo so I totally skipped that. Considering MK Switch, Zelda, Splatoon port and the 3D Mario game it looks like Nintendo has a few heavy hitters in the work to hype the living hell out of the Switch the first year.

It looks like they are enhancing the ports for the WiiU. Because you just see it for second but they use the spin boost/antigrav stuff in the game while they were panning over it. So my bet is Splatoon and Kart are enhanced ports of the Wii U games.

More or less what I expected, I'm not sold on the idea so far, it looks like a more advanced Wii U in many ways and it still appears to aim for tablet customers, which is a mistake with home console games, in my humble opinion.

Agreed.  Yeah, it's kind of funny that there doesn't seem a reason why you need ever detach the mini-controllers from the tablet.
And just use a "normal" controller when docked.  Although I expect they will charge you extra for that.

mobile multiplayer. You can give one of the halves to your buddy so they can control the game with a miniature SNES controller.

Yeah, there's that... I'm not seeing the point of the "sandwich" core though...
Although I guess it's cheaper to include that than full controller.
But it looks like the real controllers will be noticeably better, so no real reason to use the "sandwich" except as a backup.

Curious what they do on the price... Or if they do offer a 'tablet only' bundle without dock + controller sandwich for $50 less etc.
Honestly, the "Switch" name seems to make the hybrid aspect so central to the concept that I doubt they would do the above.
If they can get it down to $250 at least in a smaller-storage-capacity economy model, that will help IMHO.

Keep in mind you are paying one time for 2 devices more or less, I mean I have the Vita / PS4 for a similar effect here which features some cross buy games, but this is one payment for both your handheld and your home console device, and every time you buy a game for it... you have both versions by default because it's the same system, given the 2 console rational I could see it being closer to 400 and still be happy with the cost as long as the software is there to back it up.
