Don't know if this has already been said, but there was a distinct lack of kids and families in this trailer. Could mean the price will be higher.

I noticed that too, all hip tween audience. I assume the NX is not geared for multiple persons at once (family entertainment) like the WiiU was advertised.

Sounds basically like the Tegra X1.

Wouldnt be surprised considering they showcased Mario Kart 8.

But it could also be a new addition to the "3D" series just like how there was a Super Mario 3D Land before a Super Mario 3D World.

Yeah, it could even be a 3D World 2, but then again that would be another "next gen" Mario to fail to be a fully new thing.

The video opens with a triple jump and also features a spinning heart, that seems pretty deliberate. Also, there's no timer on the screen and  the camera is not only positioned from behind Mario but much more "inside" the level than on the 3D games. This definitely feels much more like 64, it just happens to use the same kind of bloom effects from 3D World because, well, it works.

Also, I hate the girl for stopping running and not making the jump to the moving platform on the second stage, even if it would be pointless.

Edit: I see others had already pointed this out, so this was kinda unecessary. Still hating on the girl not jumping thing tho.

I've just seen this for the first time. Felt like crying. I've loved Nintendo since the NES but I've been jaded by them in the past couple of years. Now, I take it all back. I'm excited again. Welcome back, Nintendo.

Well, watching the video again, all my issues were answered and resolved. There's no problem with the console with me anymore. Can't wait for the Switch.

All? So how much it costs wasn`t an issue for you?

Well, I don't imagine it being too expensive. I could be wrong though, and another issue came up with me, hardware space. This thing looks small and games are getting huge. I wonder if this will even have space to download games digitally.

Yeah not that much of an issue. I'm guessing the price rumor with two SKU's is correct the 300/400US which for the form factor, power is pretty decent.

Trailer: I think they did a much better reveal this time around. A nice demonstration and plenty of logo/name drops.
Console itself: I like it! Looks to be about the size of a tablet and seems to be semi-powerful (Zelda seemed laggy?)
Games shown: Zelda, Skyrim, MK, Mario 3D, Splatoon, NBA - good spectrum, wide appeal. I won't lie though I did a double take when I saw Skyrim haha.
Overall: Depending on price point, I could see myself buying one within 2017 (funds permitting).

Good job Nintendo!

Gotta say that looks great, great design and great name... for me, but I can't be the only one to notice the size of the portable device? almost every shot of people going around with it have it in their hands rather than a pocket, because it's pretty damn big, even with the side controllers removed.

Still though, colour me happy, we get to see some great games, some lovely looking 3rd party support lined up there (even more so if they unify the games heading to both 3ds and home system into this bad boy and yeah a great high powered traditional handheld (more or less) This thing seems to piss all over the Vita in terms of power looking at that basketball game they were playing, insane!

But wait.... there is the best thing about this reveal. No more fucking NX threads, 2016 will be a good year as long as there isn't some slow fucker misses this reveal making a thread about NX rumours in the next few days....

Well they seem to be emphasizing it as a home console experience on the go rather than a handheld like the 3DS.  Partly cause they don't want to trample their own product and partly cause they seem to be going for adults with this one.  A lot of adults don't like to carry handhelds, makes them feel childish (I don't but hey, people are self conscious).  I believe thats why they made this look like a tablet, so it blends in.  And besides, console games have larger worlds, smaller HUDs and text, a larger screen is needed.

And given nearly everyone carries around tablets, laptops, and phablets now, it could fly better than in previous times.  It will come down to marketing.  Would be ideal if it came with a carryijg bag though.

To be honest I got grief over having a game boy color while in school, got over that then, didn't give a fuck if others wanted to think whatever about me sitting down with my PSP in my cafe enjoying a tea or in the last few years settling down in the busy town with a Vita, pair of headphones and coffee, if people are so worried about what others think of them... that's a fairly sad life to be living when you can be enjoying yourself and doing what you want.

I agree about the bag though, a nice stylish case for this would set it in there as a accessory for adults over a toy for kids with a little play bag.

Also didn't notice at first that was Skyrim... wow, just wow that was amazing looking to see that on a handheld, sure I have Fallout 4 via the PS4 on the Vita, but natively running Skyrim on a cart in a handheld, gotta tip my hat to Nintendo on this.

As for resolution of this thing? I couldn't give a rats, people who skipped out on the 3ds because it was 240px2 missed some of the best games in existance because of a number which isn't reflected in the games at all, playing things like the 3ds ports of OoT or StarFox64 was just a joy to behold and for me (and Nintendo's audience) I would think it doesn't matter if this handheld is 720p/540p whatever just get those sweet ass games on that thing and tell me a price and I'm there.

They never really left, I mean the Switch`s predecessor (3DS) had them too...

And Vita, and DS...

Even in home consoles (sort of) if you have a PSTV it's a real throw back experience to play a console where you pop a cart into it and there is no disc whirling or fans spinning to cool it, just Cart in and play away with just the game sounds in the room. Love that system just for that reason alone.
