Awesome that you found a job you love! I'm 34 and still working on that. haha

I'm a nurse, so there's a lot of stress in my job, unfortunately. Patients seeking pain medication, manipulating you, threatening you, thinking you're their personal handmaiden, code blues, rapid responses, dealing with vomit/blood/piss/shit, etc etc ETC.

BUT....I only work three 12 hour shifts a week, so every couple of weeks, I can schedule a 6 or 7 or 8 day break without taking any vacation time. Plus, I absolutely love my teammates and we crack each other up all night at work (I work night shift).

So aside from how stressful the job can be sometimes, it's worth it that I can choose my schedule and have long breaks from the job, in addition to loving my coworkers. Those things are priceless. It's about as close as I can get to loving my job. I had many before this (mostly 8 to 5 grind type of jobs) and I never lasted longer than a year in any of them.

But I'm still holding out for that one job where everything clicks and I'm passionate about it. I think it's very rare, though. I mean, they don't call it "work" for nothing, right?

Congrats again on the awesome job and I hope you remain happy and successful there!

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

What I love is:

Playing video games
Travelling and visiting small towns or seeing great sceneries
Going to the movies
Discovering new restaurants with my wife while we're walking around the city

Working isn't as fun as one of those so no I don't love my job. I only like it as much as one can like working.

Edit: I'm assuming people who say they love their mean they love their job relatively speaking. Because surely you don't love it so much that you'd want to do it on the week-ends, for example.

I love my job. I'm a caregiver for mental and physically disabled people. So I help them with their meds, cook, clean, and help them with their shopping. I also take them on car rides, walks, and other places like the pool or movies if they want. It's a fun and exciting job. I always love going. However, it can be occasionally dangerous... and if I work night shift I don't have anything to do so I play PS4 with my coworkers

Your job is to lend a hand. Who doesn't love hand jobs?! 🙄

I manage a municipality. I enjoy it, it's interesting, challenging and you get to make a difference. Unfortunately it can also be very stressful. As the chief of staff, you have the responsibility of ensuring all departments and operations are running well - but that's the easy part. Because it's government, you report to a Council and there can be heavy amounts of politics, public scrutiny and irrational opinions. Managing personalities and human nature is exhausting. Every day can end up like an episode of Game of Thrones and I'm essentially the Hand of the King. Just like the show it's a very mixed bag.

Fortunately I will soon be moving into a new position which I think will be, overall, more relaxing, less political and potentially have greater moral and professional reward.

That's why I would never want to work in a manager position. I don't like bureaucracy and red tape. Also having too much responsibility is never good. I know I will never get rich that way but at least I'll live longer due to less stress.

Live longer and potentially happier, as well.

I generally don't.

What's a 'job'? I hear they're very hard to come by in my country these days, so I'm not sure they exist.

Anyway, back to serious business. I don't have a job, but that's because I'm a student. I study IT (or, in practice, software and game development), and I expect to enjoy my job once I graduate. Well, maybe not all of them, but at least most of them. Yes, I expect to both graduate and get a job! What's so great about IT is that if I had to guess, I'd say it's the easiest field to employ yourself if you have a half-decent idea, so I'm practically guaranteed a job. And it's not like there's a lack of jobs for a software engineer here in Finland anyway.

Love is a strong word, but I like my current job more than any previous role I've had. My hours are flexible, my manager trusts me to work at my own pace, and I even have a small team of technicians that report to me, which is helpful whenever I have too much on my own plate. It's the first job I've held where I can genuinely see myself working at the same desk in ten years time, albeit hopefully in a more advanced version of my current role.

Best part though, is having a nice group of peers to work with. I've held several jobs since graduating, and I've realized that, even as an introvert, having a positive group of people around really make or breaks the job. Knowing I have people back at the office I can rely on for information, support, and even just to vent about personal problems, helps my work setting feel more like a second home, rather than a void in my day that I need to fill to get paid.

I love my job.

I'm a mentor, writer, and motivational speaker at an autism advocacy group, which means for the most part I work with high school kids on the spectrum, helping them develop life skills and coping strategies, and I give talks at schools, universities, and workplaces.

Congrats man, I am happy things are going well!
I love my job, I like investigating and driving around, also I love the flexible hours, cause I hate to wake up early but I do not mind working till late.
If I could complain about one thing is the lack of bulletproof vest and a firearm or at least a non lethal gun, cause sometimes things get kinda dangerous, specially with vehicles repossessions, domestic violence crimes and finding people involved in drug related crimes.
That aside, I love it! Decent pay, puts bread on the table, life is good.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.
