Hey gang!

I plan to write a top 50 first-person shooters list for the site. Originally I had asked the community for recommendations, but I want to broaden the scope of that thread and make the process as transparent and collaborative as possible.

Below are three posts.

  • The first is reserved for hot topics, e.g., does Deus Ex count as a FPS?
  • The second is a list of all the FPS games I've already played.
  • The third is a list of your recommendations, which I will do my very best to track down and play.
So please stop by, pass along your recommendations, relive fond memories of FPS gaming, and read updates about my progress.

I realize opening up this thread ahead of the NX reveal is probably suicide, but I can't wait any longer!

You'll notice above I added games like Deus Ex, Borderlands, Metroid Prime, and Portal. You guys tell me: do they belong in the FPS genre? Why or why not? And let me know your recommendations!

I'll buy whatever you are selling!

Honestly speaking from this generation, I would recomment so far Far Cry 4 and Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, both are not great games, but that is the best I played this generation.
