Fall still goes on until November so who knows.

At this point, they cannot afford to be quiet much longer. Then again; with the hype and mystery building up, the NX has likely already failed to live up to the expectations. I can't remember the last time a piece of hardware was more crucial to a company than the NX right now.

Does anyone think they will keep the March release date? I have always thought it would be released In April to launch in their new fiscal year but now I am thinking I will delay much longer, possibly till Fall 2017
If not then Nintendo must think the NX is a guaranteed hit- either way, expectations are going to be difficult to manage

There's nothing "so big" about it, don't build these things up in your head. Nintendo is just Nintendo-ing (being stupid, basically). 

This is the same company that wouldn't give any new info on games like Yoshi's Wooly World for like 18 months even though the Wii U badly needed some good news. Every freaking thing is a life or death top secret thing according to Nintendo that they have to hide from their own fanbase.

Maybe they should reveal it on Halloween and scare us all or push the reveal date to Thanksgiving.

Well we don't really know that because NX is not out yet, its not even revealed. Oficial only thing they said about NX is that coming in March and that we will have more infos this year.

If they are really "incompetent business suits" they would go like Sega long time ago, they are actualy great in bussines. Problem with them is that they playing buy their own rules so it's hard to understand them.

Yeah, they don't really care about people on forums having meltdowns. Their hardcore fans will pick it up if it's half decent and the general public are not paying attention atm. But I agree they shouldn't have announced the "NX", they should have generically said they're working on their next dedicated gaming platform without giving it a codename or mentioning the platform philosophy

For us though, Nintendo never said it'd be revealed this year, we all just accept that it's reveal could be a late as Feb.

Nintendo had a fat money stack that's been there largely since the early 1990s to fall back on, Sega didn't have daddy's credit card to bail them out. 

Nintendo's hardware division has been incompetent for the last 8-9 years at least. The way the Wii fizzled out, the handling of the Wii U, the launch of the 3DS and the general lack of forsight as smart device apps cut their portable business into almost 1/3 are all largely due to awful management. 

They make terrific games ... their management has made some really, really stupid decisions though. They would not be where they are now if that wasn't the case. You don't go from 100 million consoles sold to barely even being able to get to 14 million within a span of a few years without something being horribly wrong. 

Like I said I hope a Foxconn employee leaks the entire thing, ruining their whole unveil. It would be fitting. 

We get it the casual market left to smartphones.  You pull their best numbers for a portable (DS) and home console system (Wii) and say this down cycle is so bad.  Is it bad?  Sure... Are things going wrong for them this gen?  Sure but if you take their averages (portables usually sell around 100m on average probably) and 3DS will probably end around 70m.  That isn't that far off.  I'm sure the average for home consoles is around 30-40m so being about half that is pretty damn bad but not as bad as when compared to Wii alone.

I'm not to trying to paint a rosy picture here but I think your being a little too gloomy.  Who knows NX could pull some casuals back or perhaps even convince other systems owners to finally buy Nintendo again.  We don't even know what the damn thing is yet.
