Forums - Sales Discussion - UK Charts - WEEK ENDING 15 October 2016

I sorta expected these sales for Gears 4, no way it's sales were going to equal Gears 3 but anyway let's see how its legs will performed during the holidays.

So how well did ROTTR sell? I'm hoping it does well, bought it Friday and it's clearly a great game that deserves good sales..

Great launch for PSVR in the UK. It will be very interesting to see how much these titles fall over the coming weeks. PS4 Pro release will be interesting as well. How much of a software boost will come along with the new hardware?

Gears not topping the charts does not surprise me. The value in buying it digitally from the Xbox/Windows store just gives little to no reason to buy anywhere else, unless you absolutly have to have physical.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Play anywhere is now the new excuse for poor performances?

I don't think there's many people that own both a decent PC and XB1 to even care about this. Yes digital is on the rise but 'Play Anywhere' is hardly a factor here.

Well, legs for all these VR titles is going to be very interesting to watch.

Yea I priced it up and its either you pay £40 for Gears 4 retail copy + £40 for the season pass or you just buy it for £79.99 play 4 days early get the season pass included with £15 worth(I think) of ingame skins and stuff. It was one of the very rare occasions where a digital copy is actually priced quite reasonable rather than been a pure rip off.

Well assuming 100k is the ceiling for retail then with 90% digital Gears 4 could be a million seller already.

I cannot imagine toilet-free life.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

well we dont know exact numbers. if its around the 100K~ range, its good sales. surely a decline for the series, without a doubt. but its not horrible or bad sales.

but yeah, halo had 50% digital, and now the excuse seems to be play anywhere.

No, but a proper digital approach to games and backward compatibility is for many people.  I will neve buy retail ever again.

Even when the retail version is like £15-£20 cheaper than the digital version, as is usually the case for anything from EA, Activision or Ubisoft?

Im more worried that when the servers shut down I'll lose everything. As it stands I own thousands of dollars worth of Physical games that I can re sell. Some I can actually resell for 3 times what I paid for them.

Not sure who's using that as an excuse but the point is, for those who own both X1 and PC digital purchase is a nice offer + early access to play. We don't know how many people own both systems.

Yeah I've bought about 3 physical copies this year and probably won't buy them anymore. Digital is the way to go, so convenient with pre-download and backwards compatibility.
